Lost - The Full Series Thread

Desmond may be Daniel Faraday's constant for time travel, but a Lost crew member claims he was just a constant pain in the butt.

A former ABC Entertainment employee filed a harassment and sexual battery claim against Henry Ian Cusick Friday, claiming the Scottish actor groped her and made inappropriate sounds and gestures around her in October 2007 on the Lost set.

Plaintiff Chelsea Stone alleges that, on or about Oct. 16, Cusick "placed his hand on her buttocks" and then caressed her back "while making moaning sounds." He then put his face in her cleavage and wagged his head back and forth, according to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. He then touched her breasts with his hands and kissed her on the mouth, Stone says.

Stone says that ABC and production company Grass Skirt Entertainment, which are also named as defendants, did nothing to keep her away from Cusick after she complained and, over the next several days, the actor and fellow employees became "very hostile" toward her.

On Oct. 28, 2007, Stone was informed that she had been fired, the lawsuit states.

Per the suit, "plaintiff suffered humiliation and severe mental and emotional distress, and suffered injury when by means of her stress Plaintiff miscarried," causing Stone to incur various medical expenses and suffer 'physical injuries, physical sickness, substantial losses in earnings" and other indignities.

A rep for Cusick would not comment on the lawsuit.

Stone is asking for unspecified damages to cover hostile work environment harassment, failure to remedy and prevent harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and sexual battery.

Surely this is the normal behaviour for a Scotsman?

Can someone sum up what happened to Faraday? i.e what his situation in time is compared to the other characters?

I'm being incredibly dense regarding him tbh. I seem to have a handle on what's going on, but he confuses me and it doesn't help that he hasn't been in it for a few episodes.

Here you go, From Lostpedia -

Daniel, along with Sawyer, Juliet, Jin, and Miles, time traveled to 1974 when Locke moved the frozen wheel. When the rest of the group found Daniel, he was still crying over Charlotte's death, also telling them her body had not traveled with them during the flash and had been left in the previous time frame. A mournful Daniel traveled with the rest of the group on the way to the beach camp they encountered Amy, a member of the DHARMA Initiative who was in the midst of a conflict with some of the Hostiles. Having saved her, Amy took the group to the Barracks but, on their way, Juliet was forced to stop Daniel in his tracks as he nearly walked through the active sonar fence. The group maintained the story that they were shipwrecked on the Island and, as Sawyer negotiated with Horace, an awestruck Daniel saw a young, redheaded girl walking across the grass with her mother and guessed her to be Charlotte. ("LaFleur")

During his time with the Initative, Daniel approached a young Charlotte and warned her to leave the Island and never return or else she would die (as an adult Charlotte had previously told him.) For undisclosed reasons, Daniel left the Island to go to Ann Arbour before 1977 when the Jack, Kate, Sayid and Hurley become part of the DHARMA Initiative. ("This Place Is Death") ("Namaste")

However, soon after the Oceanic Six arrived, Miles and Pierre Chang went to the dock to greet the scientists arriving on the Island via the submarine and Miles was perplexed to find Faraday among them. He said, "Long time no see" to the clearly shocked Miles. ("Some Like It Hoth")

Sometime later, after the construction of the Orchid, Daniel Faraday assumed the name "Joe" and began working in the station. He passed a worried Pierre Chang, who was investigating the frozen wheel chamber, unaware of the knowledge "Joe" had of it. ("Because You Left")

We don't actually know why Daniel left the island or what he was doing but it's a good bet that he was trying to find some way to alter things (even though he himself said he couldn't) so that Charlotte would some how live. He seemed to be, even though we only saw his return for a few seconds, to a be lot more confident upon his return. I tend to think he knows something or some way of actually saving Charlotte.

Tonne (and I mean a tonne!) more info on the character here

I think the last one was when he saw a young Charlotte dancing around Dharmaville. After that he was suddenly gone. So somehow he managed to get off the island, starting working as a scientist for Dharma at Ann Arbour and then managed to get himself shipped back out to the island.

There's no "somehow" about - it presume he left on the sub, which seemed to be a more frequent occurance in those days.

I doubt it's that complicated. He joined the Initiative on the Island, it became clear he was a physicist, he then at some point was shipped off to Ann Arbor in the sub for some reason and now has returned. He seemed pretty open in recognising Miles, so I doubt there's any subterfuge. Not to mention the fact that the rest of Dharma would recognise him from when he was there before.

So no doubt in the next couple of episodes we'll be treated to a Faraday episode - ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!!

Its a Faraday episode tomorrow, and its the 100th, and it's (podcast indicated but not spoilery) time for "no more messing about in dharmaville". They say its the beginning the serious stuff taking us up to the finale, aswell as that they didnt purposely write a spectacular 100th episode, but theyre very happy that this one is the 100th one.

Or: hooray x 100.
