remind me, what happened with the woman.. bernard was her wife? she had cancer or something?

Oh hamburgers, I forgot all about that!

Remember the magic healing properties the island seems to have? Her and cripple-boy Locke sat down on the beach and spoke about it.

This episode was ok I guess even though I knew the whole pacemaker fiasco was a con and I was drunk while watching it. I love the reveal that there are two islands and I assume that if the polar bears escaped from the cages that they swam to the other island.

I like the style of this season, I love discovering more and more about the others and I hope they give us something big for the episode before the break.

My wife has just come up with an interesting theory regarding why Sawyer, Kate & Jack were taken.

We know that one of the Others needs a operation to remove a tumour from their spine. We also know that the Others seem to know pretty much everything about the survivors.

So if Jack has to do an operation to remove the tumour and the person loses blood - what if the reason those three were taken is because their blood type matches that of the person being operated on? They did their own blood tests to confirm?

?

That makes sense, Jack made a survery of all the survivors asking their blood types, though I dont think he ever wrote it down, and that was after Ethan had been killed, so I dont see how the Others could know what blood type Sawyer and Kate are.

If they have access to all sorts of stuff about their lives before the island, their basic medical information may be part of that.

When they first found the huts etc in season 2 micheal said there was a door that was always guarded by 2 men with guns, could that be a door that leads to a tunnel which connects the two islands?

I may have forgotten if that door was explained but that's what im thinking.. ha

I'm actually really rather enjoying this series. I think it's because it's on every week, rather than being punctuated with three week breaks.

Overall I think all three series have been pretty consistent and it's certainly doing enough to keep me interested.

Sure, we all want answers to everything but that's why these things work. They answer a question and then pose some more but I'd still like to think that there will be a definite 'end' at some point.

The others little town surely must exist on the first island, as ethan and the other chap ran off in different directions and if they only have one sub then they'd surely have a bit of a task swimming across.

[edit] I just watched the beggining of the first ep again and the shot where they have "otherville" and the planes landing sites looks very much like their town is on the second island.

Yeah Otherville seems to be on the main island, I guess before the plane crash they didn't need to use the Hydra facility. So if they have subs and boats etc I would assume that Goodwin and Ethan probably got to the crash sites on mountain bikes, you can imagine the flashback now.

Just a thought, but do the others know who Mr Echo is, or do they think that it's his brother (i.e a good person - hence why they wanted to take him at the start)

I think the ones that tried to attack Eko and who he eventually killed were another group of others cause Ben tells Goodwin and Ethan he wants lists in three days so why would they kidnap people on the first night?
