PS+ April '23: Sackboy, Meet your Maker & Tails of Iron

Seems like Sony have announced a game due next month quite early. It looks quite interesting, nice idea to get it to as many people as possible. Any life in the game will surely depend on the amount of content people create etc.

[Edit] Shit didn't see there was already a thread (https://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/327677-meet-your-maker/#comment-13657497).

Maybe merge / delete needed here.

I wonder how they’ll manage the map creation. Maybe something like Mario Maker where you can’t upload your course/map until you’ve beaten it yourself or something. Otherwise it will just be full of unavoidable death trap maps.

I played on both betas of this and that really didn't become a problem. You have to leave a solid path through to the objective (there's an NPC that patrols the route), so there's always a way through to it. But if I found a level that was just a killbox, I'd just quit it and move on. If the level's no fun to play, it might get a few kills, but people won't stick with it.

You also get XP for accolades that people can give you, so that rewards more artistic and fun level design.

Happy about Sackboy was on my list to purchase at some point & enjoy on local co-op.

I miss local co-op games the Xbox 360 was great for that!

I like the look of Tails of Iron. Anyone played it?

I couldn't get past the seemingly endless tutorial-bullshit. After running around the castle at the beginning for fucking forever, I uninstalled without even fighting a single enemy. It felt super-sluggish to control anyway. Oh well.

My 5 year old spent an hour on Sackboy earlier and absolutely loved it. Feels like a more expansive Astrobot with loads to do so that will keep him entertained for hours. The coop stuff seemed really easy to get into aswell so well chuffed with this dropping for us to play together.

Oh and Sackboy himself is just fucking adorable!!

13GB.

Phew. I saw the 100 GB and thought 'not on my connection'. 13 is do-able overnight.

Weird it doesn't just add to your PS+ library; you have to purchase at 0.00. Probably needed to DL all that additional junk.

Sackboy is over 100GB?!

When there are multiple versions of the game (i,e PS4 and PS5 version) they inexplicably put the total amount of GB for all versions as the minimum requirement. As if someone is going to install all of them. See Horizon:FW minimum 189GB as an example. Baffling.

Meet Your Maker is a very strange game. Seems to involve slowly tiptoeing around a user created maze to avoid instadeath traps and enemies who kill you in 1 shot forcing you to start again. Basically an exercise in learning where all the traps are.
