That was a great direct, obviously the highlight being TOTK. I was so pleased with the GB and GBA stuff though. I've never played the Minish Cap and to use the game pass phrasing to get it free as well as all the other games is brilliant.

I thought it was a great direct, confirmation and dates for both Advance Wars and Pikmin, trailer for Zelda and price, collectors edition etc. and it looks amazing. Prime shadow drop and physical edition, new Layton, immediate access to GB/GBA online stuff, I mean there’s loads of stuff and some great demos for the likes of Octopath II. If you are a fan of Nintendo then what’s not to love?

Anyway I’m off to bed, I haven’t bought Prime, yet. Catch you crazy cats tomorrow no doubt.

One last thing, Prime 4 is Switch 2 now isn’t it? :(

Will the Switch Hardware sales beat the PS2 HW sales? This should be the last full 12 months for it.

Current numbers on the door:

  1. PlayStation 2 (Sony) - 159 million
  2. Nintendo DS (Nintendo) - 154.02 million
  3. Nintendo Switch (Nintendo) - 122.55 million
  4. Game Boy/Game Boy Color (Nintendo) - 118.69 million
  5. PlayStation 4 (Sony) - 117.2 million

By the end of 2021, Switch became the fastest home console to reach 100 million units sold

Your figures are a little out, Nintendo Switch has sold 122.55 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2022, Nintendo announced in its latest earnings release. ;)

Anyone going in on that Sea of Stars demo? Shit looks tha bombnizzle

Played it straight away. Absolutely stunning and some of the best pixel art I have ever seen.

On the OLED it is staggering.

Wow Prime is really fucking good looking. Very impressive remaster so far. Also has some nice extras that were only included in prime trilogy. Also new concept art for the remaster etc. Fuck me just dropping back into prime is so good. What a game it was and still is.

Just been watching some of Prime Remastered being streamed, it’s more than just an uprezzed version for sure. They should have made a bigger deal about the upgrades in the video.

It's a lot more than that. It's pretty damn amazing. Some nice particle effects as well. Also seems like there are more sound effects as well. Thankfully they haven't touched the music because it's perfect anyway.

I know people who adore Xenoblade and Monolithsoft who didn’t even react to Baten Kaitos. If that’s the reaction it’s getting then it absolutely needed the remaster, people deserve to know about those games they are excellent and too expensive to buy now.

Had a quick blast through the early stages of Kuru Kuru Kururin and it's still a lot of fun.

I reckon a couple of my early hours on Metroid Prime will be spent trying to figure out what control method I feel most comfortable with. Not a fan of twin strick controls so leaning toward Hybrid at the moment because I like gyro for exploring but I prefer lock-on most of the time since the combat is built around that anyway.

That was a brilliant direct.  The only slight disappointment was the lack of Mario.

Pikmin, Ghost Trick, Deka Police, Katamari, Sea of Stars, Etrian, Advance Wars and Metroid are day one.

Rain Code, Harmony, Baton Kaios, Fantasy Life, Professor Layten and Samba are titles I’ll get at some point.

Already have Kirby, Octopath and MegaMan preordered

Not interested in Disney or that Fashion game, and not bothered about Xenoblade or Splatoon dlc.  Fire Emblem is a maybe but I’ll decide after I get further into the main game.

Just got home from a board games night and watched this; what a great direct, far better than I expected!

Highlight for me was that more people can finally play Ghost Trick, an absolute masterpiece of an adventure game; I'll be rebuying it for sure. New Layton was a delightful surprise too, and I'm quite interested in the Dontnod adventure game (Harmony?), and hoping the new Samba game lives up to the DC original. Also, having very recently played Metroid Prime uprezzed, that's a very nice looking remaster. Not so much Baten Kaitos, mind; for two very interesting, gorgeous Gamecube games they've sure made them as unappealing as humanly possible :(

Just played through the opening section - now landed Tallon IV.

It's absolutely sublime. Looks beautiful,  control are perfect and having played it recently on a laptop with HD textures .... this is better. By miles. It feels and looks like it would if it was a new Switch title.

It's absolutely worth £35.

If you played andloved prime ... this is definitely the definitive way to play it. Handheld on OLED it look killer .

Sound is definitely higher quality looks to my eyes they've taken old textures and models and taken time to up the polys etc. Not just like te HD texture packs on emulation but re done them and added stuff.

Docked and on a big TV ...wow.

If you've never played it before just fucking buy it.
