Nintendo Direct, Feb 8th 2023 10pm UK! METROID PHWOAR.

Hold up, Jeff Grubbs sources told him before the autumn direct that the Metroid Prime Remaster was done and that led to him putting his hair on the line because releasing it on the 20 year anniversary made so much sense. Obviously he lost that bet so ended up losing his hair and then the game got a shadow drop release during the next direct.

That's pretty funny to me anyway.

Why couldn't Zelda come out a week earlier - then we'd all have a long weekend for Charlie's coronation. But we'd have Zelda to take our minds off that obscene display.

It'll probably leak a week early any way 😛

Erm... TLoU Part 1, for PS5??? That might have been a LOT more than 40 Euro ;)

Yeah but then it’s a lot more than what Nintendo have done with Prime which basically looks exactly the same just higher res.

Don't look at the Jeff Gerstman Twitch stream unless you want to see someone completely uninterested in a sequel to one of the best games ever made describing what they've made as "new content with an old engine".

That was a really shit Direct for the most part, but the 5 minutes of good stuff made it worth it.

Gameboy and GBA for Nintendo Switch Online.

Metroid Prime Remastered (obvs the announcement of the show, and an amazing shadow drop).

Tears of the Kingdom still looking great.

I dunno… Ghost Trick’s supposed to be good, right?

But there should have been more Tears of the Kingdom stuff than we got, and most of the other stuff was very thin gruel.

For someone who doesn't really enjoy shooters/FPS, but loves Nintendo games, is Prime worth a shot?

Yes, although £40 is taking the piss somewhat...

I can't say 40 quid for Prime seems like a bargain exactly. It's what, a higher res version of a 20 year old game with a few control options?

Still going to buy it obviously but when you consider how much the whole Trilogy cost on the Wii it's hard to justify why it's that price.

Selling a fucking lobby from a previous game as dlc, is the craziest shit Nintendo has ever pulled.

Even BobbyK has got to be tipping his hat at the balls on the boys at big N.

Alone in the Dark may seem like an odd pull for the GB collection but it was a technical tour de force that offered an RE-style adventure with pre-renderer backgrounds, 3D characters and a clever real time 3D flashlight on two Game Boys stapled together. A savvy pick.
