I’m about halfway thru but read in a couple of places that the first run thru is really an extended tutorial then something opens up adding a lot more replayability.

It’s brilliant isn’t it. I’ve had to stop myself tonight but I’m at the final stage. Lovely game in every way and I’m looking forward to playing through again as soon as I’ve completed it.

Yes, it's a roguelike, but Demon Spore looks pretty nice:

that does look nice, getting Smash TV vibes off the short vid on the Steam listing.

this looks an interesting early access title, Death Roads Tournament, a deck builder grafted onto a racing battler.

plays OK on deck apparently but UI a bit small and no scaling yet.

it's not that expensive but feel something like this will benefit from time and feedback so will hold off and pick up in the future.

Don't think AK-xolotl will win many prizes for originality, but I've only played a couple of runs on the demo, but it's a nice bright isaac inspired game which may have more to offer as you progress - one for the wishlist

who wants shrines, nah, infinite dungeons though looks promising.

dual launch with Switch version, crossplatform dungeons, 3000 already, early access so likely to be a bit lite and rough for time being, 20% off on launch at £13

Super Dungeon Maker

fuck it I've taken a punt on that dungeon game, got a lot of sitting around to do in next few days with my dad in hospital so this looks a perfect bite sized happy antidote to the surroundings (plus the hospital has quite good NHS wifi).

Just found a lovely demo for Devolver Digital pixel art platformer with novel mechanic of the week Gunbrella

No word of release date but plays really nicely on deck, very fluid and yes a novel umbrella traversal mechanic

I don't know how it would work, but do we want to merge this old thread with this new one?

No worries if not, they just served the same function so it can die.

I've got two deck builders on my wish list on sale, Power Chord and Nadir. Anyone tried either of them? They've both had updates on Steam saying they're waiting to be verified but both work perfectly on Steam Deck.

Saw this on the excellent Buried Treasure site - a 2 man indie ARPG in the style of Diablo called Ghostlore, it's 25% off for launch but also on Gamepass I think. Comments say runs fine on Deck too.

Not going to bite immediately but one I'll check out in the future.

My gifts from the forum Secret Santa were very generous last month   so I've trimmed my list down a bit. One thing at the top that's been out for a while is Into The Pit; it's another straightforward roguelike arena shooter and it's probably not doing that much more than Ziggurat (which I have in my library), but I love the garish and colourful aesthetic - it feels like it could have come from an earlier generation of games, but at the same time some bits look super-polished. It's only about £12 so I could pick it up without my wallet taking a massive hit... but I've had so many other games keeping me busy lately!

I bought it this month, thanks to a 50% discount. ^_^ It gets tricky in places but it's nice to jump in and out of.
