New year, figured we'd roll out a new thread. Look forward to looking back on this post at the end of the season when Max has utterly strolled to his third title after the Mercs took crucial points off each other in an increasingly ill-tempered battle and Ferrari chose a 12-stop strategy for every single race.

Oh, and when Alonso is desperately trying to buy his way out of his Aston Martin contract after another team move results in a dreadful car and being left struggling to tread water in the lower midfield again.

My incredibly optimistic prediction is that Hamilton beats Mansell’s record by winning the first six GPS of the season and it’s Max and George who spend the season crashing into each other. Ferrari are going to completely break Leclerc’s spirit by Spa and he’ll move to Alpine for the 2024 season while Sainz keeps picking up podiums oblivious to the chaos around him.

One theme to look out for this year: Norris to Sauber/Audi. Siedel is obviously a big fan, he's clearly a top-tier driver, he's young and his McLaren contract runs out just in time for the Audi takeover the next season (2025 and 2026 respectively). Reckon this'll be a big talking point at some stage soon.

It has, however, reminded me just how far off that Audi takeover is. A lot can happen in three years.

Lewis for the title.

Redbull get constructors.

Ferrari to fire new boss before they get to America. He will be replaced by Vettal.

Las Vegas will be shit.

Lando to spank yet another teammate

De Vries to be the best rockie.

Williams to not be last, that will be the job of Hass.

Alonso will fall out with the team before they get to spa.

Gasley will get enough penalty points to get at least 1 race ban.

Verstappen will continue to be an obnoxious prick.

Didn’t GM run some sportscar prototypes in the top class under the Cadillac name? Possibly in ALMS?

Pretty funny how Andretti has run to get big brother to make F1 let them play.

It's just good business sense isn't it? The current teams clearly weren't going to allow them in on their own. Wolff has been particularly obnoxious about it but I'm sure that the others hold similar positions.

I’m not against it at all, it gave me a chuckle that they were put down for being too small and insignificant so they’ve come back with one of the biggest car companies in the world.

Yes they race in IMSA and have a new LMDh which will also be competing in the WEC this season.

Watch as they still don't get in.

Had to check if it was real.

You know, because like, there's never been a massive case of fraud involved with some kind of money transfer sponsor before...

So see you on Feb 24th?

I didn’t watch a second of season 4 so… unlikely.

There is a lot I don’t like about F1’s current direction. This show (obviously) isn’t solely responsible for any one part of it. But it is a part of the mix that has enabled a wrong direction imo. I hope it withers and dies as a series as soon as possible.
