helping max?

No it's more to do with trying to "improve the show" which makes overtakes too easy for many cars across the grid. The DRS zone is way too long as Brundle said

As for the safety car they seem to throw it on for anything. That was never needed.

Red Bull dont need to fuck about with Perez. Max is gonna win the championship. Let Perez have his moment.

Problem is Max won’t listen if they say “save the engines lads, just cruise home in this order”.

Exactly this. Perez’s garage has to tell him to keep pushing because Verstappen would simply ignore any team order they tried to give.

Is that coming back on him now?

If it was that I think race control would have said something already. Maybe it is the jack touching that Brundle is talking about.

That Mickey Mouse safety car. Lol. At least try to be subtle about it. At least Perez made a race out of it at the front, FWIW (which is bugger all tbf).

Apparently they didn’t have a camera on Stroll so had to call a safety car because they didn’t know where he’d stopped!

I wonder if the stewards knew that, if they were Sky Sports subscribers, they could have pressed the red button or scanned the on-screen QR code to watch the race from any car’s on-board camera!

Because if they didn’t, David Croft will certainly remind them of it fifty fucking times an hour next race weekend.

It's good that Perez won (I guess 😟) because he is our one and only chance of any type of championship.

Ideal scenario is that Max has some reliability, Perez picks up the ball when he does and goes full burn bridges with RB to race Max towards the end.

IF Perez did do the thing in Monaco last year (I have my doubts) then we might just have something to watch. I recon we'll need at least x2 Max DNFs and Perez picking up the wins. If they both have similar reliability Max will practically have it won by the summer break.

The most shocking thing from this race was just how awful Ferrari were. I mean, wow. Last year really was their shot and they blew it. Poor Charles. 😦

Oh for sure, but my brain doesn't want to give in to the inevitable just yet, it's race 2.

I think there's more chance of Merc and/or Aston being able to throw a spanner into Max's works than Checo. Now that Mercedes have finally decided to bin their 2022 car and make underfloor and bodywork changes, they could have a (slim but) realistic chance, and Aston have a great platform to develop. (Slim) Hope remains.
