Don’t Stop Me Now. The international anthem for people pretending they’re having a good time but are actually deeply sad inside. And also Queen are absolutely shit.

They took away negs. YOU CAN’T TOUCH ME.

I like Fat-Bottomed Girls, but otherwise - yeah - not for me. Freddie was an amazing performer and showman, but I'm just not a fan of the material.

I'd agree with Everybody Hurts from the OP. I'm a massive REM fan, but I never liked it then, and I still don't.

Almost all Christmas music. Even the good stuff (Fairytale, Cavalry etc.) I've just heard it too often.

One of the many tunes that qualify for this thread that made the playlist at my work Xmas do last night. Bleurgh.

Also included was Sweet fucking Caroline. Fuck that song into space.

Mr Blue Sky can do one as well.

Yeah if you work in retail that ruins basically every big Christmas song forever.

I remember years ago, working at a place with a new manager who had come from a different industry and she loved Christmas. She was telling us all how she couldn't wait till we started playing the Christmas songs for ages. By December 3rd she was like "Ok fuck that stuff, go back to the normal music now" lol.

Fortunately I haven't worked at many places that had stations like Heart FM (with what seemed like a loop of the same ten songs on permanently).

But when I did, apart from Christmas music, the two songs I got sick of more than anything were:

* Girls Just Want to Have Fun

* I Don't Want to Miss a Thing

I remember correctly guessing "hmm, I bet that's going to be next" on more than one occasion.

I could quite happily miss both of those things for the rest of my life.

I’m  not sure if it’s Heart or Magic they insist on having on in my office, but they’ve been “100% Christmas” since late November and only have a playlist of about two hours worth before it starts repeating. The biggest crime is they have multiple recent covers in there (most of which seem to be by Michael Buble) that lack all lack the charm of the originals. What’s the point of a cover of Merry Christmas Everybody which doesn’t have a shout of “It’s Chriiiiiistmaaaaaas!”, which is clearly the best bit?

Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, which is absolutely not the sound of the summer.

In fact I don’t need to hear anything by Daft Punk ever again.

Like the first two albums as my daughters like them too, along with the Alive album - but everything else - meh. That Random Access Memories album was so boring!

I was just about to post that one. What a load of smug drivel. I also hate "A Horse With No Name" by America. Just give the fucking thing a name! Prick.

Oh, and for me it's Baker Street.  Guy in work used to whistle the fucking sax tune. Every. Fucking. Day.  He retired five years ago, but I still hate the fucking song even now.

Funny story. My dad went up to the sax player at my brother’s wedding and said, “Do you do requests?” The guy said yes. My dad asked for “Baker Street”. He replied, “Never heard of it.”

Don’t Stop Believing needs sending to the bin.

For some reason, UK radio stations seem to think that it’s some kind of beloved classic when in reality, nobody in the UK gave a flying shit about it for 30 years till the wretched Glee dug it up and its been everywhere since.

I can listen to sweet child of mine over and over again those solos are perfect.

Similarly Mr BLue Sky always lifts my mood

Songs I don't want to hear again?

Stairway to Heaven

Bohemiam Rhapsody

Oddly enough I can listen to Paranoid Android a million times and it doesn't grate the same way that Bohemiam RHapsody does. I see those two tracks as kindred spirits and I am a massive Queen fan. If you are tired of the "classics" then as others have said the back catalogue has some great stuff including the whole of the Sheer Heart Attack album which is their best by far.

This monstrosity.

Although this has me breaking out in hives.

That's because when it came out a woman down our road decided to play it on repeat for around 10 hours at full volume. Reported by the entire road to the police and the noise abatement people at the council. Eventually she turned it off after being threatened with having her stereo taken away from her. Next morning she started up again and within about half an hour the council/police turned up and took her stereo away from her. It was pretty much everywhere that year and I remember making an advert up for the local windows company using the song:

Quote

Jubilee Windows are the best,

With windows, doors, conservatories,

prices that will bring you to your kneeeeees

Woaah-oh,oh, Jubilee windows are the best......

That song did a job on me.
