Ok rules;

 

- It's ok to post a film from the previous year that sneaked into this year in some regions, don't care

- It's ok to post your list if you're still planning to watch more films,  it's fine (and you can update your list later)

 

The thread as usual is mostly about highlighting films that some may have missed. If you want to find where to stream them, you can use https://www.justwatch.com/ 

 

Here is my list (in order), 19 films so far, only one film got the 4/5 from me this year (Brian & Charles);

Looking at my Letterboxd it really shows up the "Everything is a super hero movie" crowd. Some great stuff this year (with only The Batman making it anywhere near the top of my best films list).

Disney+ is nuts in terms of how quickly films end up on there, I do wonder if having such a quick window from cinema to free streaming is going to bite them, but then I assume most cinema goers either go and see stuff or they don’t rather than deciding to skip Fox/Disney stuff as it will be on Disney+ soon??

Not exactly a stellar year for amazing movies. I've obviously seen a lot more than this, but wouldnt consider any of them good enough to make a 'best of' list so can't even fill out a Top 10!

I loved all these films, but usually I have a list of about 20 to narrow down, but outside of these I'm struggling. Some really great films this year, but few and far between.

Best film I've seen this year is All Quiet on the Western Front - not even close either.  Sensational film.

 

I've yet to see The Banshees of Inisherin which I'm sure I'll enjoy as I love Martin McDonagh's stuff so I'll give that a watch before listing my top 5.
