The manga and anime are very popular, but it's probably going to be a shit live movie. It's being made by Netflix and Legendary. Manga and anime are both ongoing. Don't know much about the manga, but the anime is currently in it's 6th season (plus 3 movies). Needless to say, whatever this movie produces will barely scratch the surface.

Set in a version of Earth where, in the not too distant past, people started manifesting superpowers as young children, called Quirks in this franchise. In the present day, about 80% of people have Quirks. They can range from devastating power to practically useless. Some people with Quirks go on to become officially licenced superheroes. They have to be licenced and unlicenced vigilantes are illegal.

The main character has no Quirk, but still dreams of attending a superhero school. And an encounter with the world's No. 1 hero changes his life.

It'll be written by Joby Harold. He did Guy Ritchie's version of King Arthur, the Obi-Wan series and upcoming long delayed Flash and Transformers.
