None.

You can turn motion blur off. That's it.

That’s a bit shit isn’t it, I mean even if they can’t hit 60fps at higher resolutions they could at least offer a locked 30 or even 40. Or just lower the res, hopefully they will patch it in.

Doesn't run at all on my PC.

Opens on some 16bit looking FPS, with an irritating voice shouting at me, and then no control input at all whether by M+K or controller. I can access the menu and quit out though so that's something.

Life's too short for this sort of shite these days so I'll just uninstall and move on.

I wouldn't even download anything less than an EDGE [8] on Gamepass.

What about it if it was not on GP, would you buy it? Would that then be OK?

I find the idea you'd let somebody else completely decide if you like something or not (when you could just try it for free) really crazy.

I dunno. Should games really be expected to provide performance/quality modes? Would more options help or just result in two bad modes?

I've no issue with a game developer choosing for me. The audience can decide if they think it looks good enough or runs smoothly enough for them.

But I expect them to hit whatever that goal is. Same as I expect them to if there are two modes.

If this doesn't hit good performance than it's shit either way.

I don’t mind either way so long as all modes do what they say without ruining the experience.

Playing on Series S and yeah performance could be better, but hasn't put a dampening on my play through upto yet. Framerate dips a hell of alot, but haven't experienced any dreaded stuttering or shader caching which is what I find emersion breaking like Callisto protocol. Playing it on my Plasma ATM, will try on my oled later on see if vrr smooths things out.

Anyway just done the first bounty. If you are a fan of Rick and Morty type of humour you will love it. If not, look elsewhere. Game play feels very old school simplistic shooter with platform/swinging traversal.

loving the art style though and the amount of background animations. Really brings the world to life.

Also have to mention the inclusion of Tammy and the T-Rex 😄

Overall I'm gonna go against the crowd and say I'm enjoying this one upto yet. Great addition to Game Pass

Had around 30mins or so on this... Not too bad really... a parody of FPS games! Made me smile in places... Never watched Rick and Morty before so not really sure about the humour in there but this is amusing enough. Sure there is a bit of swearing in there but not excessively so IMHO. Performance wise nothing really to complain about didn't go out of my way to look for issues though just enjoyed moving through the world and experiencing it. Great to play something that doesn't take itself seriously... kind of reminds me a bit of playing a Serious Sam game with some of the mechanics of various FPS games.

Downloading to my PC too as generally like playing a bit old school (mouse + kb) on these type of games.

I assume that also means zero accessibility options?

It has subtitles but no colour blind options etc.

I've just noticed that in the options you can turn down enemy and gun chatter, so that's something I might be using.

I like Rick & Morty, but what I really like about it is the way it takes a sci-fi concept and takes it as far as it can possibly go in a very short space of time. It's funny, but what drives the humour is the density of ideas and the sheer imaginative intensity they squeeze into about 20 minutes. I'm slightly dubious as to whether that kind of humour works when it's dragged out over the length of a game. That Knifey clip above wasn't massively funny, and I was already pig sick of the bloody knife and its one joke by the end of a two minute segment.

Played up to and including the first bounty and it's a lot of fun.  It plays a lot better than I expected, and I don't particularly find the humour/vulgarity too over the top either.  Plenty of it, sure - I find it quite amusing as a puerile individual.

It's very silly, it's littered with pisstakes on the genre (I do like the glossary section made out to be like an online forum - they just needed to add the rllmuk logo...) and I'm sure I'll enjoy my time with it.

Performance wise - definitely a framerate dip, and very stuttery occasionally but nothing groundbreaking and nothing that will stop me playing.

So far so good IMO - good fun.

Running nicely on PC apart from the FOV is a bit tight, but I'm sure that's fixable.

Very good fun so far, the shooting feels quite nice and it looks surprisingly great. I'm laughing a fair bit and the gags are coming thick and fast with a decent hit rate. A lot of the funniest stuff is incidental. It's the exact humour you'd expect, but luckily it works for me. Just had a little tinker at lunchtime but looking forward to playing some more. Seems like a perfect gamepass game so far.

If you look past the humour elements, which are very much hit and miss, having made me laugh and also think “shut the fuck up” in equal measure, this is what I would call, so far at least, ‘a game’. There’s nothing particularly bad about it (other than the objective tracking market which is doesn’t stay on screen long enough and isn’t always accurate) and there’s nothing particularly good about it. The shooting is perfunctory. The level design is just ‘ok’. It looks decent but not mind blowing. In fact some of it looks a bit unfinished, like the hub city which you feel may have originally been intended to be a bit more bustling.

This is probably the best example of a 5/10 game you can get, which the score going up if you like the humour and the score going down if you don’t. Some of the bits that make you stand in a spot and listen to dialogue/exposition are awful because it’s not funny. Some aren’t.

It’s clearly been made with the idea of having talking guns and then the rest slapped on top of it, rather than that being a cool feature complimenting incredible level design or combat. It’s been funded because the publishers have thought “this guy made Rick and Morty, people love Rick and Morty, so he can make a game like that”. I’m not saying he can’t but they haven’t exactly knocked it out of the park and if you’re like me, you’ll enjoy the cartoon a lot more.

Running really nicely on PC here (via gamepass)  Looks gorgeous.  Really bright and colourful with excellent detail.  I think it looks like a really polished product.  Surprised by the "5/10" comments

I'm finding it funny too, but I get why its marmite in that regard.

On PC theres a bunch of Gfx options to tailor performance to your liking. You can also alter how chatty the weapons and NPCs are - reducing it to significant plot stuff only if you want to tone it down.

Just started on the second bounty hunt.   Want to play more!

It's self published and developed by Roiland's studio, they made a lot of money selling silly VR games I imagine.

Edit: Jesus Christ it's £46 on Steam. Thought it would be a tenner

£60 RRP om Xbox. Would have been disappointed if I'd have paid that TBH from what I've played so far...

Just had another go on this and finished the first contract/bounty. Reminds me of a mix between a FPS, Crackdown and Sunset Overdrive. But well not as good as any?! It's actually making me want to go back and play Crackdown again! :D

Don't think I'll be chasing my second contract down...  fun game like playing through an episode of Futurama or something. Talking weapons a novelty. Gameplay a bit meh as is the story.

Hunt for the Xmas game continues it seems...
