It's that time of year again the 12th Steam Secret Santa; 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011.

 

As usual I need to buy the games to send them directly to keep everything secret. The easiest way is to use the Digital Gift Cards to send me Steam wallet funds that I can then use to buy the gifts. One limitation is there's no option to send a specific amount, it's multiples of 4 and 10, you also can't use current wallet funds to buy them.

 

You can also use PayPal gift or bank transfer, as these will require some more organisation would be best to get them done before the final minute. I also discovered last year if I'm buying gifts for someone I've recently added on Steam I can't use wallet funds, I'll let you know if that's the case and if there's an issue with bank/PP I can sort something out.

 

  • To take part please PM me a link to your Steam profile by the end of December 18th.

 

 

  • Make sure your profile/game details are set to public so your secret Santa can view it.

 

 

  • On December 19th I'll send a PM saying who you're buying for.

 

 

  • PM me the games you want to gift and if using digital gift cards send it to JPR before the end of December 23rd.

 

 

  • If you want to send money another way let me know in the PM and we will sort it out, please try and let me know as early as possible.

 

 

  • I'll then send the games out late on the 24th.

 

 

The Winter sale looks to start on December 22nd, so a short window to sort the gifts out.

 

Games should be at their best price at the start of the sale, useful for buying gifts, it also means you won't miss out on anything if you choose to wait until the 25th to buy games.

 

My account is a UK one using the UK store, the digital gift cards are converted if sent in a different currency but not sure if you can see the conversion rate.

 

A wishlist is really useful, no limits on what you can buy, I'll include a Steam profile link so you can see what they own. Whilst there's no restrictions the spirit is more thoughtful, you can send a comedy gift, but it's not really in the spirit if that's all you send.

Everyone check this, as your Santa gets nowhere if they can't see what you already have! An easy way of checking is by visiting your profile (e.g. https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/id/[username] ) in a Private/Incognito browser window. If it's private you can go to your profile and the Edit Profile button, then in the Privacy Settings bit you can set things to public.

In the spirit of giving. I do have two codes available to give away. They were going to be bonuses for my victim, but happy to give them to anyone who DMs me first and is part of this.

The link you need is

 where [username] is the user name you use to log in to Steam.

 

To make your profile public, log into the Steam Windows client (or log into Steam on the web) and click "Profile" in the menu that appears when you hover over your username. Next, click "Edit Profile". Click the bit that says Privacy Settings, and make sure that both "My profile" and "Game details" are set to Public.

 

EDIT:

 

To do all of that through the phone app, tap your avatar thing in the top right, then tap View Profile and then Edit Profile. Find the tab at the top that says Privacy Settings, and make sure that both "My profile" and "Game details" are set to Public.

Ooh, looks like the giftees are out! Apologies as ever to whoever has me — I know my wishlist is ridiculous (and littered with unreleased games). I'm lucky enough to have someone with a far more reasonable list to go through, with some bangers to choose from; looking forward to seeing what the sale brings :)

 

For what it's worth, my list is kept in rough order of preference if you'd rather not browse through the whole thing; but also I'll be happy with anything from it so don't worry about picking whatever takes your fancy, no matter how far down the list it is!

Yeah, I try to use the ranking when I remember to update it :blush: but whoever gets me doesn't need to sweat the details too much - and if the discounts aren't great then they're welcome to go for random picks outside the list! Every Santa I've taken part in has been awesome so I'm pretty easy to please. :wub:

Yea. Mine is just in the order it is in. No particular preference.
