It was a great game if you're a fan of spectacular fouls. There was one foul on Caniggia that's absolutely iconic.

There's a great iPlayer programme about it. Worth watching. The foul on Maradonna was worse. I'm amazed Maradonna got back up. He was a tough little shit mind.

The only thing I knew about the Qatar football team before this game is that they were the worst team on the original FIFA International Soccer on the Megadrive so everybody used to pick them as the opposition in friendlies just so they could trounce them.  Thirty years later the actual Qatar team don’t appear to be much better.  The Ecuadorean family who live next door to me seem quite happy about this if the cheers were anything to go by.

Same. Went about 15 minutes from the end and just woke up. Sunday snoozes are wonderful.

Senegal France in 2002 has to be the greatest World Cup opening match. Favourites for the tournament beaten in the first game and then dumped out of the tournament at the group stage.

Mine was 1978. No England but for some reason I was drawn to the Netherlands throughout and they are my 2nd team to this day.

Mine was Italia 90. I remember Mexico 86 being on in the background while other people were watching but Italia 90 was the first one I was excited for and watching Cameroon beating Argentina (and that tackle) with my Grandad is something I’ll remember forever.
