That second goal was great improvisation from a pretty bad pass to him.

As for Neymar, it's more Ney-mark on the game (no-mark, wi-fi, beard, am I doing this right? ;))

I know there's been a lot said about this being his tournament and how his career has come down to this, but wasn't 2014 meant to be his tournament, being at home and all? Why isn't the same noise being made about Messi now (there's been some, but not the same level by any means I don't think)? I mean it'll likely be the last tournament for both of them, but it's been a bit more muted around Messi, even though he also really needs a win to cement his legacy.

Yes, 2nd goal that was utter shit. His first touch was dreadful. Boring Brazil.

What a disappointing World Cup everyone.

One very good goal doesn’t make them the Samba kings again.

Germany dicking them 7-1 in their own back yard after they all sobbed over Neymar, now that was a joy.

Seems a bit weighted and negative to me, how obtuse.

So we've now seen all the teams. Incredible that there's not been a single red card yet!

For me, Spain, England, Brazil and France clearly the best sides based on their openers. Full of talent, quick passing and seem full of goals - all will obviously face sterner tests.

Qatar and Costa Rica by far the worst!

Also, pressing tends to reap rewards - a lot of teams who sit back aren't getting much out of games and suck the life out of them.

Overall I think it's been good. A few too many 0-0s but we've already seen some great goals, some big shocks and some decent games.

My wife is already sick of it mind you.

As much as those guy were probably dickheads, I still find it disturbing that people are being arrested for what they have chosen to wear. Obviously there are limits to this, like if they were dressed as SS officers they should be kicked out of the stadium, but they're in fancy dress as St George. People have been dressing as St George to sporting events involving one or other kind of England team for years. I don't know where the idea that they're "Christian Crusaders" came from.

I mean, as I said, I'm sure they're absolute brexit-voting bellends, and it is funny to see them being arrested, but it's still really quite bad that they were. Not as bad as the people being refused entry for displaying rainbow symbols, obviously, but we shouldn't stop being disturbed by this because it's happening to someone we would move to a different pub to avoid.
