The difference that Bellingham and Rice make to the midfield is huge.  So much more dynamic, so much quicker.  Was the sort of improvement I was begging for after the Euros where I think we were often outmatched.

@Ork1927 I’m not sure on the exact maths, but a point might not be a bad result for Wales tonight as England might already be through by the time England and Wales meet.  Iran are going to be well up for it against the Yanks so even if they are already out I can’t see them lying down in their third game.  
 

 

The rest of this game is difficult to call.  England look really confident at the moment, the passing looks crisp and Iran have basically handed over control of the midfield to Rice & Bellingham.  The game is over so I can just see England coasting now, it’s a long tournament and it’s hot out there so plan for the days ahead.

A point would be okay for Wales, but they can’t really afford to lose I don’t think.

 

Wales big issue is that Bale and Ramsey are only going to have so much in the tank and it’s when they use them and/or risk losing them for the later games.

I wouldn't be making any extravagant purchases just yet, @ZOK. I don't think Phillips is fully fit, so it's unlikely he'll be risked. Your best bet is if Southgate decides he needs some minutes on the pitch to help him get match fit. If he does come on, he WILL get booked.
