No he didn't. I presume you're talking about taking Saka off, but at that point it was about putting on some fresh legs and Rashford's height if we managed to get some crosses in.

They were on the ropes but yeah let’s change it up and hit some long diagonals into the mixer for Rashford. Come on!

In the cold light of day, this is another missed opportunity and a quarter final exit.

I don't even think the ref being dodgy or France being cheaty matters all that much when you have a penalty to level it so late, so it feels like snatching defeat from the Jaws of victory a bit, even though that isn't the case.

Gutted, but not a white wash thankfully.

Kane no doubt will get the shit. Team played well though, but taking Saka off and having Mount on? WTF

I guess Mount won the 2nd penalty, but yes the change to the wide players didn’t seem to work. You can’t blame Southgate though, as it has worked all tournament. Just another glorious failure.

Agreed. Still can't believe Kane skied that, if you were to come up with anything to happen in this match you wouldn't have come up with that

That's a bit of a double standard given how much joy people expressed at Ronaldo/Neymar going home. I think it's fair for non-English fans to give some ribbing.

I can take some ribbing but you can’t compare. Ronaldo is a selfish baby and Neymar bottled taking a penalty. England gave it their all.

Lloris must have been giving kane the baseketball treatment at that penalty. Hel be tipping him in training until he retires.

On a positive Kyle Walker bosses mbappe

Southgate has the passion of a crushed bruised banana and can't cut it at the top. Get him out.

You know, I kind of can believe it.

The pressure of a World Cup penalty does strange things to a player. We've seen some of the best players ever go to pieces when talking an important penalty in a World Cup knock out match. Baggio skied one in a World Cup final, Beckham hit one miles over the bar, I remember even Maradona duffing one along the ground. We think of Waddle as sort of hapless because of 1990, but he was one of the most technically gifted players I've ever seen.

I'm not sure that makes any difference? If you don't like England (or Brazil, or. Portugal or individual players on those teams etc) then you are just pleased they lost. Why does it matter if they played well?

Would people feel sorry for Ronaldo if Portugal had bossed their match but still lost? I don't believe anybody would truthfully say yes if they didn't like Ronaldo.

Agreed. Personally I want anyone but Argentina to win. Any of Morocco, Croatia or even France defending the title would be great.

England are dog shit. Like klopp at Dortmund. Like anthony joshua.

Can't finish the job. Ever. Because. They. Are. Dogshit.

Over paid. Over hyped. More bothered about filming Gillette adverts than winning games.

Gary Neville is also a prick

You ok hun?

Yeah some regular goals needed from England, not just penalties to carry through
