What would be on a mini New Style SNES/Super Famicom Jr

The new mini Mega Drive 2 has been wowing hardcore MD fans because of its selection of deep cuts after the famous hits on the original mini edition.

Someone in the thread wondered what would be on a SNES equivalent.

So I'm looking for suggestions. I'd like to keep it realistic. So if the licence makes it incredibly unlikely then forget it.

My thoughts (keeping it to 20)

Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen

Cybernator

ISS Deluxe

Skyblazer

Super Smash TV

Saturday Night Slam Masters

Chrono Trigger

Harvest Moon

Lufia II

Demon's Crest

Rock 'n Roll Racing

Rendering Ranger R2

Tetris Attack

Gundam Wing Endless Duel (perhaps breaking my own rule here)

DoReMi Fantasy

Top Gear

Hagane

Run Saber

Gunman's Proof

Phalanx

Chrono Trigger and ISS: Deluxe, obviously, and I think DoReMi Fantasy, the Quintet Trilogy (plus Robotrek?), and Uniracers / Unirally would be great choices as well.

I would add:

Ganbare Goemon 2
Ganbare Goemon 3
Ganbare Goemon 4
Tokimeki Memorial—even if it’s not perfect

Final Fantasy V
The Firemen
Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War / Thracia 776
Torneko no Daiboken
Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius
Hebereke's Popoon
Tetris Battle Gaiden
Sanrio World Smash Ball
Bahamut Lagoon
Super Bomberman 5
Marvelous: Another Treasure Island

And as the surprise game in the package: Stunt Race FX 2 / FX Fighters / Satellaview Collection

I've gone for thirty, on the basis that they'd want more games as they're lower profile. I've avoided licensed games, but not Microsoft as Nintendo appear to be able to make deals with them now. My list would be:

Axelay

Breath of Fire

Breath of Fire 2

Chrono Trigger

Cybernator

Demon's Crest

Donkey Kong Country 2

Donkey Kong Country 3

Fatal Fury Special

Final Fantasy II

Final Fight 3

Illusion of Time

Killer Instinct

Kirby's Dreamland 3

Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals

Mega Man X2

Mega Man X3

Mega Man 7

Ogre Battle

Panel de Pon

Pilotwings

R Type III: The Third Lightning

Saturday Night Slam Masters

Secret of Evermore

Street Fighter Alpha 2

Stunt Race FX

Super Aleste

Super Bomberman

Terranigma

Trials of Mana

I can imagine Panel de Pon not making it because it's Japanese only, but there's no chance of Tetris Attack and that's a huge shame.

Fatal Fury and Super Aleste are certainly possible, they have games that appeared on the Mega Drive Mini 2.

I think it's a pretty nice list, I'd absolutely buy it.

Just in case a licence deal would be possible, I'd love to see X-Men Mutant Apocalypse, that's a cracking game with some amazing graphics!

It could be possible, now that Disney owns Marvel (and we've had a few Disney reissues lately).

If they could get hold of Batman Returns, that would be awesome too.

Batman Returns is such a great game. Really good shout if they could get it.

I don't think anyone's mentioned UN Squadron which must be a contender for best shoot em up on the system.

I'd be pleased to see Castlevania Dracula X too. It gets a lot of flak for not being Rondo but it's still a fun game.

Top Gear because I quite enjoy these sprite based racing games, even though they're quiet primitive.

Since this is all fantasy anyway, I'll add in the SNES mouse and include King Arthur's World, Lemmings and Cannon Fodder and I guess Mario Paint too just because that's what came bundled with the mouse.

I'd suggest Unirally and Super Aleste.

Edit - almost forgot my favourite - Exhaust Heat.

Think there are licencing issues with Unirally which meant that it barely got a release run at all, let alone a release.  I agree with you that it is fun, but I can't see it ever resurfacing officially.

It's actually stupider than that. Pixar had a film called Red's Dream in 1987 that featured a CG unicycle. Having full exclusive rights to CG unicycles as a result, they managed to sue the developers for featuring a CG unicycle, despite having nothing in common with Red's Dream except for that.

Plus Mario and Wario.

That's a great shout. For a Game Freak game on the SNES it seems to go under the radar for many, although I think it requires the mouse which might explain it.

For me:

Marvelous: Another Treasure Island

Bushi Seiryūden

Hamelyn no Violin Hiki

Energy Breaker

Treasure of the Rudras

Sutte Hakkun

Tetris Battle Gaiden

But I'd trade the lot and all the hypothetical fantasy consoles mentioned before and after it for them to do a GBA with 20 good titles and have one of them be Mother 3 instead.

Here are some I'd like to see. Obviously lots of overlap with the above...

Bust-a-Move
Castlevania Dracula X (for the lols)
Chrono Trigger
Donkey Kong Country 2
Fatal Fury Special
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Mario Paint (throw a new mouse accessory in the box too :P )
Mega Man X3
Pilotwings
Rendering Ranger R2
Shadowrun
Super Bomberman...? (or its sequels; I don't know which is best)
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Smash TV
Top Gear

That's about as far as I've got. But if we can list never-going-to-happen nonsense, I'd also include a translated FFV and maybe a translated SNES SMT.
