I was certain that the top word was SKUNK, so I swapped the N in exchange for an E in KNEEL and only when it didn't turn green did I see the alternative word.

 

My usual approach is to solve it in what I call the I and the H, though I need a serifed font to explain that properly. Top, Bottom and the middle vertical, or Left, Right and the middle horizontal. Three valid words there is usually a good sign, barring ambiguities. Alas, today had one.

My initial planning was based on the assumption that

the left column word would be "focus". So it was a nice surprise when both the I and the C turned green when I swapped them round in preparation to move the O.
