Edit: I was going to get the premium pass for the gold you unlock but they've put it up a quid, the cheeky bastards.

The Shuri > Red Skull > Taskmaster combo is pretty brutal to play against, eh? Especially as I’ve seen it twice where they use Cosmo to stop you destroying the Red Skull.

I think Shuri is probably the card I’d like to get most. Just need the token shop to come through…

Just in case people haven’t seen the update, each season you get a free series 3 card.  If you go to the shop you’ll get offered 1 that rotates till you pick one.

Typically, the ones I’ve had to choose up till this morning have been amazing.  M’baku, Adam Warlock, Maria Hill and Nick Fury.  I have just looked and it’s updated to Mr Negative, which is tempting, though I’m not sure if I’m missing some of the bits to properly do a deck with him in.

Looking through what I’ve got left for series 3 though, I’ve not got loads left now that’s really good and even then it’s mostly for super specific deck archetypes (eg, Dracula for a discard deck).

Yeah patriot is probably the most effective deck to put her in.  Cerebro was popular with her but gets wrecked easier by some of the rng stuff or disruption.  If you have mr negative and like super high rolling decks, you can use her there too.

She used to be super popular with Silver Surfer decks too, but I think they’ve dropped off a lot.

Patriot

Defintiely Patriot. I don't have the card yet but the patriot/mystique combo has done me over plenty.

Made it to infinite with a discard deck. Strangely seemed to get easier once I got past the road block in the mid 80s. Discard is not particularly meta but it's good enough, as long as you play the percentages.

I'm at collection level 1500 (about halfway through series 3 in terms of cards) and have already pulled two series 4 cards - Silver Surfer and Knull. I'm assuming that is pretty lucky? Surfer I'm not sure I can use but Knull seems like an interesting card.

The only problem with a combo deck is when the card doesn't draw. Probably not true, but it feels like Patriot is generally 12th in my deck. Or the one that Cable steals. Or the one that Sakaar discards...

Meanwhile, I put Black Cat into a Dracula deck, and she is in my starting hand 9 times out of 10! Not that I'm relying on her, I want it so that Death, Giganto, Red Skull, and Infinaut are all that's left for Drac to take from, but I've not even had the chance to play her at this point. Might be nice to drop a 7-pointer instead of relying on 1-cost lowbies to ensure the big finish.

Incidentally, if you can get 2 Dracs on the board, they both take a card each at the end. In a game where I already played Red Skull, I was thrilled when my opponent didn't retreat. Perhaps they thought Skull was my big gun, because the existence of Drac on the board is usually enough to deny me cubes!

Usually play a Hela discard deck, but this one is so much fun when it works. Struck it lucky with the raptors. It was even funnier earlier as I played similar on  the Kamar-Taj location where on reveal effects happen twice :)

Yeah I had that yesterday. Was making headway to the next tier a d lost a few games I was sure I had in the bag.

This was fun with a Zabu/Sera deck. No high numbers but was fun to watch. Sinister London made Sandman irrelevant.Screenshot_2023-03-27-11-41-00-39_31ee5a5373ba3159a8855b291b175c1c.thumb.jpg.6ae2a8371b00663474464d69eed91e89.jpg

I think the rng is shaped in a few ways, the frequency of pulling key cards being one of them. You DEFINITELY face stronger or weaker decks based on your deck and probably success with it. I play very different archetypes when move away from my Spectrum deck.

Krakoa

What a bunch of shit. Why is this on rotation.

If you haven't seen it, it plays your 5th turn for you.

I just had it play mystique after Wong. But away from Wong. Who it then moved (due to a cloak on the opposite side) to a location where I couldn't play cards after turn 4.

Why do they continue with such bs.

Probably because otherwise decks would be way to broken without the variance introduced through locations. Maybe

As soon as the one that draws from your opponents deck shows up I'm out. Can't be fucked with that shit.

But I've already got Shang in one deck for big cunts, Armor and Cosmo in another for destroy cunts. Where does it end?! The locations are necessary I feel but some of them are plain, flat out un-fun to play. That one that gives you five rocks? No. Draw from opponents deck? No. A lot of them are fun and when the synergise with your deck lols are abound, but some are flat out fucking garbage.

Fucked by locations: a melodrama in one image

I killed him with Killmkonger after but retreated soon after because Wakanda and Space Throne made it pointless.

In this one:

Krakoa fucked me by putting Venom in Shuri's Lab, but then his Aero pulled Venom to the middle where he ate Winter Soldier and someone else I forget despite it being like ten minutes ago. It made me laugh.

I'm convinced the game screws you on your initial hand when you get on a good streak.

Hi, comrades!

I know that this doesn't happen, but OH MY GOD does it feel as if it does. I made a Dracula deck, which took me up 3 tiers so quickly it felt like I was cheating, and now suddenly it's worthless. Dracula himself almost never appears until turn 6, or various locations conspire to mean that I have all my big guns and a 2-power card at the end, in which case he invariably chooses the worst card he can. Meanwhile, every opponent that plays a turn 1 Blade slices Apocalypse up by 4 power.

Every single opponent lands their combo, and is able to play exactly what they want to. And they are so good at predicting that they are PSYCHIC! 1 was playing against a destroy deck, and I had them right until their turn 6 Juggernaut. What the hell was he doing in that deck? Or even if they don't I get some dogshit that screws me over. Got the 10 random cards location, and Krakoa chose to play Carnage onto the Nexus I already had 12 points in over my opponent's 10, handing it and the game to them. For anyone who is interested, I played Lizard and Ebony Maw on turn 3 after they had already filled it.)

It genuinely feels like I have to change my deck after every win, because otherwise I'll be punished. I actually love to be outplayed, seeing some very clever stuff that inspires me to try other things. For example, I saw someone play Luke Cage, and then drop Wong. Their last 2 turns were Mystique and Hazmat, and then the inevitable Odin. That was genuinely brutal, but also beautiful. But it rarely feels like I made bad moves, and I'm left thinking I just lost to someone's Hail Mary more often than not.

I made a new Shuri-based deck, but with options other than just Red Skull > Taskmaster. Won the 1st game by dropping Shur onto Sinister London, which placed a copy of her onto the flooded middle. (Had already filled left, so it couldn't go there.) Followed that up with Absorbing Man, who dropped for 12 (don't know why it wasn't 16) and did the same thing, I then got to finish the game with Lizard for 20, who also did the same thing. Next game? First location is TVA, limiting to 4 turns. No shurinannigans for me! Thankfully, I had bult my deck to allow other options. This time I was able to play Luke Cage turn 2, Hazmat turn 3, and Absorbing Man turn 4. (Thank YOU< Hazmat/Wong guy!)

I love this game, but DAMN I HATE IT!

I've hit 45 which is the highest Ive got, so I'll probably spend reset testing stupid decks as I attempt to break my reliance on decks cribbed from Marvel Snap Zone.

Saying that, if it works why not? I want to run an Arnim Zola/Nimrod deck just because I can call it Arnimrod but it basically looks like a destroy deck but with Wave, Arnim and Nimrod. Anyone whose a decent deck builder had any success with that combo?
