Marvel Snap - current season: Guardians’ Greatest Hits

I think it works like this:

On reveal effects are doubled, so Black Panther enters with a 4 and goes : 4 > 8 > 16

Odin triggers first 'on reveal': so Black Panther (starting on a 16) goes: 16 > 32 > 64

Odin second time ' on reveal', so Black Panther (now on a 64) goes: 64 > 128 > 256

Agree, you'd be annoyed to make that perfect play only to be countered by Shang Chi

Yeah, that's the process that must have happened I'm just curious how he entered at 4 in the first place (as according to Arn's screenshot he's a strength 2 card normally)

His effect is double on reveal, so he lands at 4?

Am I reading that on the card right?

His double happens twice, so he should just go 2 > 4 > 8, then the rest happens as me and bm laid out, but if so that would just lead to him ending at 128 points. He needs instead to have gone 4 > 8 > 16 on being played for his final value to be what it was, which means he came out already augmented. I'm guessing either a Forge was played and destroyed somehow, or a "+2 to cards in hand" — either could have happened thanks to whatever the middle location was originally.

In your hand, he's 2.

When you place him, (on reveal) he's 4.

The location then makes him 8.

Odin makes him 16, and then it plays out like you said?

To me (If I understand the mechanics right) you've got it right in your second part using the above logic.

I’m not convinced by Black Panther. Yeah you can get him to high numbers with a bunch of prep work that relies heavily on luck of the draw. But you could just go for the Moon Girl/Devil Dinosaur combo which is far more reliable and easier to pull of and you get two beefy high power cars going that route, instead of overextending into a single lane and being highly vulnerable to a Shang Chi the face. Doesn’t help that the card pool is awash with really good 5 power cards that generally outshine this.

As an Enchantress user, I highly approve of your continued commitment to Devil Dinosaur ;)

(for the real cool people it's all about Vulture shenanigans, of course)

I agree, but boy oh boy this felt very good.

Since starting this new season, I've found myself enjoying this a lot more. Helps that I'm winning more often than not, although I'm sure that'll change soon enough.

Here's my current favourite deck, requiring no Pool 3 cards. It's a fairly standard "destroy" deck with a few tweaks of my own. You'd think that Squirrel Girl wouldn't fit alongside Killmonger, but she pairs well enough with Bishop, Carnage, and Nova to merit her inclusion. She's also useful for establishing presence in lanes with effects that make it difficult to play in directly. Due to the focus on destroying cards, Warpath is very strong if you can keep one lane empty, which is also why I've thrown in Klaw, with his ability to assist from a neighbouring lane. Hulk might not be very inspiring, but at least he's consistent, and there aren't really any other 6 drops available to me that would be a stronger choice with the effects in this deck.

If it has one problem, it's that it has a slightly wonky cost curve, ocassionally proving difficult to make efficient plays on turn 4. I'm thinking of swapping one of the 3 drops (Bishop, most likely) for a 2, but haven't found a candidate I like yet.

Having bought the new season pass for Black Panther, I'm beginning to think I made a mistake. In the 10 matches I've played since, the only time I've seen him was when my opponent was drawing from my deck and thus popped him down against me.

Still, loving the game. I played Devil Dino on Bar Sinister, and my opponent did the same. His 60 beat my 36, but the 8 and 12 I had on the other lanes were better than his 1 and 10. I suspect he knew he would lose, and just played it for a daily mission at that point. Naturally, as soon as we both played the same card, I did the Spidey point emote. Disappointingly, he didn't play ball. Who even are some of these people?

I'm not paying for any season pass but have been enjoying the quick matches and find if very rewarding when the tables flip around in my favour and I win all three locations :)

It's a fun time-pass game.

Can I interest you in some Hulks with your Hulks?

(relatedly: using Cloak to signpost to your opponent that you're about to go all in on a location, then watching them eagerly destroy their own advantage as they rush to counterattack the two point card you're actually placing there, is never not funny)

The laxity of their naming restrictions is ever a surprise to me. My favourite username I've seen so far has been the particularly subtle "Cunty"; like, if your name filter doesn't even handle unmodified sweary adjectives, it's probably a little underactive.

Anyone else somehow seem to lose their progress in this? My account was backed up to Google but now when I login it's taking me back to the tutorial and I can't get out of it.

Was working fine around midday today.

No issues for me.

This has somehow righted itself now after a reinstall.

I just had a pure gold moment. X Mansion dealer the opponent a Green Goblin which flew over to my side of the board. Then it dealt me my card… Arnim Zola which destoyed and created two more which went shooting over to him in the other lanes. He retreated in about a nanosecond. 🤣

I’ve been very much enjoying this recently.  It’s quite different I’m that you can’t brute force your way into a meta deck even if you want to spend a butt load of cash, so it naturally keeps you in line with similar level decks.  Or at least it feels like it so far.

Ive had fun with a few decks so far.  I’ve had most success I think with a deck built around ongoing effect synergies, with 1 drops that you can get a wide board with that get buffed with Kezan, Blue Marvel and Spectrum.  There’s tweaks that keep it interesting that you can swap in and out and you can go with a later curve list too.  Odin decks can be fun too, esp with black panther.

The ones that shine though are the more out there decks, though you don’t get loads of support early on.  I was really struggling with 2 quests I had to win locations with one card, so I made a few swaps with the ongoing deck to put in devil dinosaur and cards that added ones to my hand, like Cable, Sentinel and White Queen, to see how much I could pump him up, as well as cards like Mr Fantastic and Klaw I could drop in mid to pump up the right lane.  It did surprisingly well, and I played it a bit as it was fun seeing how high I could get him.
