for what it's worth the last time they went on sale, I managed to get the models I wanted without having to rush to order as soon as they go live. hopefully they'll do the same this time round.

That’s me missing out due to scalpers or the analogue site being overwhelmed then.

This process has never failed me.

1. Set an alarm

2. Log in to the Analogue site ahead of time and add your address details

3. Log in to PayPal or have your card details ready to copy and paste. Also have a backup card ready in case your preferred card is declined

4. Run through a dummy order until you get to checkout to make sure your address and other details are correct. Remove the dummy item from your basket

5. When orders go live, add what you want to your basket, paste your card details and complete checkout

I've never encountered a problem using those steps when I've ordered from them. Even managed to bag a last minute Nt Mini Noir order this way.

Nope, no cart readers yet for the MiSTer. It's been mentioned on & off all the time I've been involved with MiSTer but nothing has ever come of it. Having said that, there was this video I saw some time back.

A bit of a faff to set up, and how many people have a Retrode? Not worth the effort.

As much as I like the MiSTer, I keep the NT Mini, Super NT & Mega SG around just because of my cart collection. They are fantastic machines.

However, this "last run" batch has a certain "something" about it. (NT Mini / NT Mini Noir comes to mind, and Aunyclimax has picked up on this too!

Or just get a MiSTer?

Yeah, but twice a the price and I’ll mostly use it for SNES. That and the case I want from misteraddons is never in stock. Also, I DO want one so thanks for making me think about  spending *even* more money 😛

I do suspect as other have mentioned that there’ll be a V2 nt that supports multiple cores and I’ll be kicking myself for buying the Super NT. Sigh.

Ha! Yeah - I get that. I would love one too, and a Pocket - and the forthcoming Duo. 😬

Considering the shipping time is Q4 2023 it’s likely to be an open preorder until orders slow down, I doubt they’ll sell out within a day. When the NT mini noir had its final run I managed to get one without any issues.

Kind of surprising that they are doing this as it will leave them with the pocket as their only system for sale and they can’t even make enough of those to have in stock. I’m sure there will be new models of the NT, Super NT and Mega SG all with Analogue OS integration, but theres no way they will announce those before the older models ship at the end of next year because otherwise people will just cancel their orders.

It's why I never ordered a Pocket, when I got my consoles from them the lead time was much shorter but I guess with the manufacturing woes and this is the last one it's a case of it being a seller's market.

If you're not desperate, there's some thought they might be clearing deck for new systems next year but it's very much a coin flip right now.

You site read good. They take payment in advance.

Ha! I was referencing my failure to properly read what folk here had posted previously. Think I must have been over excited at the prospect of getting a Super nt and failed to consider that we’re already in Q4 of this year :)

I’m not up for loaning Analogue £200 for a year. Feels like they could take preorders for a small deposit and then take final payment when they’re ready to ship - like Valve do with the Steam Deck. Especially as I think it’s inevitable they’ll eventually release a v2 or multi format model that runs Analogue OS to compete with Mister.

Might just put the money toward a Mister that I can play now.

I have to say, Analogue producing a cart based multi system would definitely be a good thing, but for me, the charm of something like the SuperNT is that it's a modern SNES, and for Megadrive fans, I'm sure the same is true of the MegaSG.

Other cores, Analogue OS...  fuck all that, cart in, power, game loads.

I hope we get either a new firmware update, or an open-sourcing of the platform with this release.

There are a few minor bugs that could do with fixing, most annoyingly some screen shearing on the Mega SG when running Master System games with a 5x vertical scale.

I'm very tempted to sell my white Ghostly International version of the Super NT in order to get the SFC colour, which is what I should've gone for at the time. They seem to go for crazy money on eBay too. I've never been quite sure what convinced me not to go for the SFC one at the time.

I think it’s a bit strange that it’s going to take them 12 months to get these made. It’s not like they’re spinning anything new up, it should just be the exact same design, molds etc so I would have thought it would have been fairly straightforward to get it made, maybe even 6 months at a push. I presume that they have a hard production number limit, which they’ll easily fulfil and it’s certainly not their first product, so I would imagine they could book production time with their preferred manufacturer.

Just with the current rate of inflation and chip issues, 12 months seems like an awful long time to be giving someone £200 and hoping they do it. Plus I have memories of the Spectrum Next, which the second kickstarter was supposed to be a quick turnaround project, yet here we are and it’s delayed again to next year.
