Looking forward to trying the campaign early.

Does anyone know if the new Zealand trick for Xbox is working right now?

Also, why the hell can't I predownload this?

Every time I try it only has a small file.

Preload for Xbox UK is from 6pm today.

Probably going to be that for PS then too - it's just the way it displays in the store - will find out later today

EDIT - looks like unlock for the full game is Thursday 27th for digital - a day before physical

OK - PS5 version is now downloading/preloading whatever - if it finishes tonight I'll report back with the install size - I just selected the FULL option from what was presented

I've no real idea on the actual install size overall, it's confusing, stating a lot of content is shared with Vanguard (which I also have installed) ?

Otherwise total current size just displayed for this game is a little over 70GB but I don't think the MP stuff downloads today

Wish they would sell a version with just the campaign for about £29.99. I would happily buy it, and they would get a bit of extra money. But I’m not going to touch it at £69.99.

Genuinely surprised they haven't broken the bits up and sold them separately before now tbh. Zombies, MP and campaign could be sellers on their own right.

It’s £60 at Amazon. I reckon renting the campaign will cost me £20 as I’ll probably trade it in after clocking the campaign.

I'm the opposite - I'd just buy the MP

This looks and sounds fantastic. Only just finished Amsterdam mission and feels like a film.

Achievements are not popping for me though. Most of them are stuck at 0.00% in regards to players worldwide so there must be an issue.

About five missions in. Love. It's so so filmic, hi-tech, involving and brutal. Best real-life locations ever seen in a game. Facial animation and cut-scenes are staggering. Set pieces are one and done as ever, but an amazing ride whilst they last. Can't wait to see more but have to hit the hay now.

I've always found the campaigns in CoD like whack a mole and I don't really enjoying playing them much, but I'm checking out a stream of it right now. Dunno why, but I'm interested in seeing where this one goes and if it diverges from the original in significant ways.

I've been continuing a youtube playthrough of the campaign. Looks... kinda excellent?

I mean, I don't think it'll play a hundred miles apart from the previous ones, but the dialogue is light years ahead of that old Oscar Mike bullshit (especially once Soap starts Scottishing to people who can't or won't understand him) and there's a lot of variety and interesting setpieces in it throughout.

Missile section's cool too, incidentally. Like Top Gun Maverick with a warhead.

Same - without going into specifics, it does feel a bit like they chucked all of the level setpieces from the original trilogy into a hat, all the major plotpoints into another hat, and did a David Bowie-esque mix n match, then transposed it all into a new main story arc. It's actually an interesting way of approaching remakes.

The odd callback is nice too, as is a bit of extra detail here and there.

Spoiler

I like how Soap is now characterised more as an idealistic mr.clean type, hence the name. Also I feel like we'll get a 'dogs....I hate dogs' before long.
