As a result of this change, Crystal Dynamics (or its affiliate) is now the owner of these games and the controller of the gameplay and personal data related to them. If you’d like to know more, please refer to our new Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

We look forward to taking this new and exciting journey with you!

glad that SE didn't decide to sit on these, wonder if we'll start seeing more re-releases and a different direction for new titles

Mod Edit:

Including a link covering Eidos as well

Soul Reaver needs a full blown remake rather than a simple remaster, I think. I adored that game, but it really hasn't aged well.

I'm not entirely sure I want another Legacy of Kain game but if it's the only way to get another game built around the idea of switching between light and dark worlds and puzzles based on manipulating that mechanic then I'd be on board. Beyond The Medium we haven't seen any current gen games about that sort of setup even though the fast loading times of modern hardware could allow for some real differences visually between each realm.

It made me laugh when there was all the hype about Ratchet and Clank showing the PS5 being able to do instant 3D world switching things that were supposedly not possible in games before, when Soul Reaver was doing exactly that in 1999.

Obviously I know it's quite different but let it have this.

The Nemesis system in the Shadow of Mordor games along with the whole soul sucking and possession mechanics in them would be perfect for a Legacy of Kain universe reboot.

They'd have to tread carefully to avoid Monolith's patents. 😕

It was very impressive seeing the PS1 doing that world switching thing seemingly without any trouble at all. And it was far more ambitious in its implementation and impact on gameplay than the recent Ratchet and Clank PS5 game... A remake/reimagining with current tech could be mind blowing if the devs go all out with the concept - the R&C game was really tame in that regard. It looks gorgeous but the instant world switching wasn't even ad good as a humble PS1 game!
