Good day to all of you, denizens of Rllmuk. It's that time of the year again. That time when (for the past six years) Nintendo decides to reveal its winter line-up from September to March next year. So get your Dekay sirens out of those mothballs and let us speculate without any basis whatsoever.

Below I'll post some of my expectations in spoilers. Some of it could be true, some... not so much. But more importantly: what do you expect from this new Nintendo Direct? Wrong answers only please.

Spoiler

-Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD are heavily rumored.

-Metroid Prime seems to be getting a big ol' remaster.

-A new Fire Emblem was leaked a few months ago. Co-developed by Gust and expanding the RPG elements in accordance with a cancelled Wii FE that it seems based on.

-Expect some more NGC love this time around with even more remasters on the way. Nintendo is seemingly hellbent on getting as many series an installment on the Switch. New game, remake or otherwise.

-Game Boy platforms announced for the NSO service

Edit: IT'S HAPPENING BAYBEH.

Despo for a bit of GBA action on the switch. Also that Metroid Prime remaster would be perfect for the darker nights drawing in, but it’s been due in every direct since the switch came out so I’ll believe it when I see it.

Mainly though the thing I’m looking forward to is the surprises. There’s always loads of leftfield stuff that seems to come out of nowhere thanks to the shorter dev time on the Switch.

- Metroid Prime 4 releasing December.

- Breath of the Wild 2 locked in for end of Marches

- Switch Pro revealed

- New F Zero.

- GameCube coming to switch online, launching with Wind Waker.

- The new switch exclusive resident evil

- Pilot Wings World - the new open world MMO Pilot Wings.

That should cover it.

Four player Paper Plane where each player uses only their Switch screen, they have to work together (placing each of their screens next to each other) to make sure the plane doesn’t crash into an obstacle. They can switch between vertical or horizontal (now the plane can get blown left or right, at certain points) as the plane drifts downwards leading to some frantic swapping around of the players screens.

I hadn't really thought of new system entries to the Switch Online sub. Have they given any indication they're going to add, say, the DS? Or perhaps the Gamecube, given you're a bit boned on a DS without the second screen.

I have no idea what the guts of the Switch are capable of, nor how the BC stuff works. I assume they're emulators, but in-house?

They ported Mario Sunshine using an emulator so it’s possible.

That said, I think GameCube games represent a point where they know that if they up-rez the graphics, remaster the audio and add joycon controls and people will just buy them again at full whack.

They could do DS to get people to buy two

Switch’s and an additional hinge peripheral.

I think a GBA emulator was found a few years ago. GB and GBA is a matter of when not if.
