Enjoying this a lot at the moment however I don't get enough time to play the arcades as I'm too worried about not getting that S rank for my laundry.

Pff. Ain't nobody doing washing.

Haha - Barkanoid is great. Long Dog is Long as an achievement.

My latest addiction is Communists From Mars, which is a surprisingly good version of Missile Command.

I wish I liked the really early Woodguy's Adventure game, but the match 3 bollocks is tedious and goes on too long. A shame, because there's an actual campaign to that one.

It's also a shame that the Pool is kinda bad. Aside from some dodgy physics, which isn't a good start, you can't add spin to the cue ball so any straight shot is always an in-off.

The Puzzle Bobble ripoff is great, though. And now that I've unlocked the ability to slow time, I might try getting far in the Fruit Crush game. That's fun, but takes a bit too long for a standard day.

I've just got one machine in the third wave to get (the one with the dance machine?), then I guess I'm on to the next expansion. Arcade revenue is getting properly good now, but I do tend to still do the washing as I'm still netting a nice 20% boost from it most days.

What upgrades have people gone for? I've got the trainers for sprint, and have then changed the controls to make sprint toggled rather than button press - this means you can have sprint on 100% of the time because it just remembers it as on permanently.

I also got the Time Slowing upgrade. It doesn't slow down things as much as I thought it would when playing, but it definitely helps get a load more gaming in.

Think I'll go for the bin bags next.

If anyone wants to take the stress out of washing.

On the title screen Xbox version

Spoiler

U,U,D,D,L,R,L,R, B,A, start(3 line button)

It unlocks gold machines which always give you an S rank and an achievement

I expect the same thing works on other versions.

I've got Sprint (which doesn't work), slow time (which does), and the assistant (who empties all the hoppers). I bought the PC games yesterday - now I have Minesweeper (the controls are broken - your cursor just randomly lurches everywhere) and Solitaire.

Sprint does work, it’s just not much faster than walking.

Has anyone bought the car? Does it do anything?

No, it literally does nothing. It's supposed to. But it doesn't.

You start work earlier so the day is longer.

Maybe it’s my imagination! Try toggling it off then on in the options.

Yeah, I’ve done that. I think it’s a bug. There was a big patch to fix loads of stuff for the PC version but it hasn’t hit consoles yet.

So I had the same issue with running and zoom after I bought the glasses and the daps.

What I did to sort it was. Go into the PDA. Head into the settings and you can switch them to toggle on and off.

I did that and it started working for me.

YMMV.

Sadly darts is not as good as it usually is in the Yakuza games.

Darts is a good one to get easy goals on and generate cash though.

My Space Racer machine is bugged, I can't actually accelerate any more.

Got the third expansion now though, and money comes in at a rate where new purchases every day seems to be achievable. Slightly addicted to Blockchain.

This is fantastic and a real nice surprise. I'd imagine it will hit Game Pass at some point but its perfectly priced now at £17 on Xbox.

My two GOTY candidates are this and PowerWash Simulator. Its been an odd gaming year for me.

Is it me, or is the analogue control polling utterly fucked on the air hockey at the moment? Don't know if it's from a recent patch, but I could swear I never got times where it doesn't react to movement like it does now.

As mentioned above, pool physics are pretty garbage too. Also, the first time I played fruit crush the icons glitched into each other and stopped the game entirely.

On the bright side, Bugin (the Puzzle Bobble clone if I got the name wrong) is an absolute banger and I played it for an entire in-game day until 2am. Art imitates life.

There’s a semi game-breaking bug.

Don’t open the sound recorder app when you’ve unlocked it - you won’t be able to close it again.

Where do you get that? I’ve only got two machines left to buy and never seen it!

Spoiler

It’s on the office computer. It might have been one of the upgrades that unlocked it.

I think it’s meant to play the chip tunes from the arcade games but it just locks up the computer - and stays that way until you quit out of the game and reload.

Aaah - the player not a recorder. Right. Yeah, I have that - not had it crash though.

I’ve had this from the start on Switch, but if it’s like mine, the controls go funny at very specific positions on the play area. This made me think that this is actually an amazing piece of game design - you didn’t buy the machine, it’s been stuck at the back of the launderette gathering dust, it’s many years old. So when considering its backstory like that, it would play like shit and probably not respond uniformly. You should be able to bloody fix the thing when you have money to burn, though!

There are some bits of rubbish I can never pick up which are the squashed cans on the little shelf to the right of the dryers, no matter what angle I approach them from I can’t get the trigger to pick them up to appear.

That’s a known bug and is going to be fixed in the first patch. There are a few things like that - some hoppers are really hard to highlight, for instance.

Completed the wave of machines that include the bomberman and arkanoid clones. Both are very good!

The next step is very expensive, though - A good two to three in-game days worth of idling. It's not bad if there's a couple of missions on the 'good' games, but it's still a bit of a drag after the 5K expansion.
