CrichStand
@Junker Sounds good, I’ll give it a go if I get time to play. P.S Couldn’t resist.........just used my 2nd run on the weekly challenge and took 20secs off - 41:32:402. That despite crashing into random shit a few times and having to reverse plus was a lot slower than my first run on a few other stages. Made the time up on the later ones. Reckon I could easy do a minute faster than that, possibly more with a decent setup and clean run.

Junker
So the clubs thing. It’s got realistic damage so if you smash it on stage 1 you’ve got to put up with that all the way through as I didn’t put in any services Also it’s one and done, no redos, but you can do one stage at a time and come back to it. It took me about 17 minutes to do it in one sitting so not a massive commitment. Like I say it’s open for 7 days till next Saturday night so you’ve got plenty of time

You’ll get there. Took me a while but you kind of need to set the car up early for the turns and go in on a bit of an angle and time it so once you hit the apex you’re pointing in the right directions and can fire it out. I got it by doing a short course over and over again so you memorise the corners and can focus on technique rather than where you’re going. The little Estonia one, and the Japan shakedown are the 2 I used

Junker
Oh boy. Despite getting stuck on that lamppost in the nadgery Village bit twice and doing an Austin Powers 9 point turn I managed to improve my time on my 3rd run of 3. Excitedly I check out the leaderboard and ooof. Which one of you is player63724? That is a mad time. Somehow the top dude in the world is a full 5 minutes faster. Over a 60km rally that’s… err… a lot faster - 5s faster per km or something

Damn my nemesis! *shakes fist* Solid time tho...and what a glorious game. I'm not sure a better way exists to immerse yourself in rallying than this. Utter bliss.
Junker
Try those setups on WRCsetups.com. Not sure if it’s psychological but they make me go quicker.

spatular
thanks! tips? sorry this is going to sound obvious, probably stuff people already know, and probably rubbish tips but ill try (and some maybe more important for dirt rally) - try not to hit stuff, but if you're going to hit something try and make contact with the back end of the car and try and slow down as much as possible before, well don't stop but don't try and power through it either. if i keep playing this more i'm sure i'll get slower at first as i try to go faster i'll end up hitting more stuff. and same as what you said above about getting used to the handling/sliding - i think that's a good tip - not sure on the stages but one with wide road so you can throw the car around and get used to the sliding would be good. you've also got the old rally thing of turning the wrong way to transfer the weight to the inside before turning the right way to flick the car into/get it setup for the corner. Junker
I really don’t understand how the team league works? We set a load of times and yet it’s dumped team Rallymuk back in Amateur again? as for the Club, we’ve got 5 members and 3 have set times in the rally. I will do a different one every week for as long as people are interested. Loads of good combos we can do that the Leagues ignore. scoreboard as of yesterday. It’s open for entries till Saturday night.
CrichStand
@Junker It seems to me that the online Leagues stuff wasn’t fully sorted on release. A new season has now started so I’m guessing it should pan out a bit better. Still about as clear as mud how it works though and the fact you can’t actually see where you’ve finished each day renders it a bit pointless. Had a go at the Club Rally and that’s puzzled me too! Don’t think I’ve used the Polo Legend car before so tried a quick run to see how it handled on the opening Monte Carlo track. Flew through it and set a decent time. Then jumped to the Club Rally to play through it. Same track, same car, same set up and I’m suddenly over 30secs slower. WTF!?!? Had a go at the next stage and hitting any kind of snow had the car sliding all over the shop completely out of control. 🤷🏻♂️ I usually play with no assists, realistic damage, perma crash in the career mode so not sure what’s going on, unless Online Leagues (which is all I’ve been playing) uses simplified handling and I’ve now got used to it or something. 😂

CrichStand
5 hours ago, Junker said: Ahh who knows? Maybe time of day and weather effect ? Did you use the special Monte Carlo only snow and ice tyres? I used the Soft compound tyres as the stages are mostly Tarmac. On Quick Race mode that’s the fastest setup by miles, everyone appears to be using them on the Leaderboards. I’ve also used them on the Monte Carlo tracks in Leagues. That didn’t transfer at all to the Club Rally we’ve got going though. Handled totally different and the car was sliding all over the place completely out of control. Will see if I can figure out why when I’ve got time. Did you use the stock tyres/setup for the Club? Hopefully some more folk will get involved, seems way better than the Online Leagues. Nice one for setting it up! 👍🏻
Junker
Yeah I used the stock tyres . If we get more people off here playing it will be good as it tallies points and standings from Rally to rally and you can actually see the leaderboards. I’ve got some good ideas as well for combos to create some unique challenges.
CrichStand
I definitely picked the wrong tyres, ended up 2mins off the pace! Spent most of the 3rd track wheel spinning down the road in top gear then skating into walls. 🤣 Tried to replicate it on Quick Race and with the same setup I was over 30secs faster. Seems like the car is getting more traction and doesn’t go totally mental when it hits the snowy bits. Definitely seems to be a difference with how the Leagues stuff and Quick Race plays. Think I’ll just stick to the stock tyres from now on. 😂
Junker
Last shout for clubs Monte Carlo rally. The classic season opener. 4 stages and about 17 minutes of rallying. Search in game for “JUNKERDENB” ‘ s club. Ends about 10pm tonight. Also… is anyone watching the actual Monte Carlo Rally? I feel like this needs patching into the game

Junker
Week 1 and a handy win for @spatular this coming week’d Rally I’ll start this evening, and again run for 7 days for a Sunday tea-time finish. Junker
Ok next rally will be up in a few minutes. Carrying on the Monte Carlo theme were going back to the start… 1973 all podium places were Alpine A110. We’re recreating that and a bit of weather thrown in. Bonne chance mes amis!
Junker
I’ve put a marker down. Pretty clean run but maybe too cautious. Car is as tail happy as you’d imagine a 1970s rear engined rear wheel drive car to be. Get it right and it feels amazing, get it wrong and there’s a wall or a big drop waiting for you
CrichStand
Just set my times for this week. Proper shocking! The car appears to be made out of Balsa Wood or possibly even A4 paper. 😂 Crash into anything and the physics are appalling. Got wedged into a wall I clipped on the 3rd stage. 4th stage the car jumping jacked straight up into the air (exactly like something off Banjo Nuts and Bolts).........and then the rear end landed on a fence.......meaning the rear wheels of the Car couldn’t touch the ground (unlucky much?) and I had to use a reset. 5th stage the car somehow span perfectly into and onto a narrow bridge and I had to do a 10 point turn to get back on my way. Quite the feat when reverse gear takes the best part of an hr to actually reverse the car. 🤣 For some reason the car also kept randomly deciding to lose all traction which resulted in some really weird unpredictable spins, always at the worst possible moment. Is there any way of using mid rally setups with Clubs or are you stuck with your initial setup? I stayed stock but If you changed the gears for acceleration on this rally and your luck held out, you’d finish minutes out in front.

Junker
Ok, Rally No2 completed. Another win for @spatular. I’m not sure about the set up thing, I’ll have to try and work out which rally type enables it. Clear as mud in the descriptions though..
Junker
Rally No3 is up. Again, got till next Sunday evening to complete. @marsh has joined so I’m afraid it means another tarmac event. Another French theme but a bit sunnier. This time Corsica as Didier Auriol in his Celica. I’ve made it a bit shorter as well so it’s less of a commitment.
