£17.99 on PC, or £22.99 for the 'Fully Loaded Edition'.

Not sure if those extra bits are worth it.  What is WRC+?

I think it's the web streaming service for the WRC.  Not a great deal of use now the season's almost over, but might be able to delay activating it until the new year?

Edit - curse of the new page!

Anyone play this (or WRC 10) on a wheel. I tried it and it was nigh on impossible! Also no handbrake doesn't help.

Yeah I’m on a wheel and so is @marsh

I was deffo quicker on a pad in WRC10 but this I think wheel is better? Early days but it’s great fun. Really immersive. Not having a physical handbrake and relying on a button is a bit of a nightmare but I’m getting used to it.

My daily League times so far. Quite proud of the Chile one

Intersting . Might be worth another try with this version then. 10 with a pad was pretty great on PS5 mind.

As I’ve already posted and only FWIW - the handling in this feels a bit trickier on pad. For the short time I tried I found myself overcorrecting a lot and weaving up the stage.
Swapped to my wheel and felt more instinctive than 10 to me.

Right, so the porsche 911 on the dailies is impossible to drive with a wheel. The top player in my league hasn't even posted a proper time, and he's bloody quick.

I did a pad time, and I've bagged second. I'm not going to waste my time in pursuit of the leader. @Junker has knobbled both my times other than the silly 911 on the failies. The league leader has beaten both those times in my league mind.

This game is really, very very good. I've barely touched the solo career mode, and I've been sat here for a good couple of hours tonight doing various online bits.

Been spolit this year with this and dakar. I think this does what it does better than what gt7 is trying to do. You get that thousand yard stare that rally drivers have, while frantically sawing at the wheel. Love it.

Had a go at Time Trialling a short course to get a feel for different cars in back to back tests. Ended up putting in a fairly decent time which turns out to be the best in the Polo WRC.
Also made an in game sticker for Rallymuk. ( I had a day off work so don’t judge me)

Is someone on the forum Player38107 ? Had a friend request in game and wondering who it is?

Our Team in the League is “Rallymuk” and we are open for more members.

Yeah, I think that's me.  I'll have a look at my profile shortly and see if I can change that name.....

Welcome! Just tried to beat your time in Finland in the fiesta, was about two seconds off in the last sector and then arsehole'd it in an absolutely nothing incident.

Not sure how the estonia team got some many points? Does the weekly time trial carry a bigger haul?

Nice to have a bit of rivalry 😃

I'll try and do the weekly TT later and see how the points work....

Doesn't look like I can change the name you guys are seeing for me in the rallymuk club.  My name shows fine on my profile as SharkyOB, but then has that random player ID underneath it.  I'm wondering if it's a crossplay thing.

Yeah must be. No matter. We came 3rd in our league last week. I think it’s a bit mad you have to basically do all 3 dailies every day and have a full team doing it, but at least it’s fun to compare times

I have to say, I think this game is superb. On Rally Estonia last night doing the tarmac stages in the skoda, you can feel the weight transfer on the front end through the wheel on the really fast sections, absolutely incredible. Gt7, GT Sport, neither of those have done that.

Love this game. Really very rewarding, and only too happy to slap you in the chops if you try and take liberties. I should have moved up a league, will find out shortly...

I completely agree with this, so much fun to belt through these stages.  The game feels really visceral to play and I think the FFB is great after messing around with the settings quite a bit.  The current team weekly challenge is a great one to demonstrate tyre grip as you're forced to start on tarmac tyres for the first SSS, but the subsequent stages are gravel with horrendous fog on stage 2 as a bonus.  The tarmac tyres actually aren't that bad on gravel, but you have to be aware of a general lack of grip and they'll be completely shot by the end of stage 3.  You can change to soft gravel tyres for stage 4 and it feels like your birthday and Christmas have both come at once 🤣

I am having a slightly annoying issue where the game doesn't always pick up my upshifts correctly.  Looking at the test option in the controller menu, it seems to pick up paddle presses as a split second thing (the indicator flashes for a microsecond, no matter how long I hold the shifter down for), whereas on my wheel's settings screen in windows I can see it registers the paddle presses properly, so if I hold down the shifter it stays held down.  So it looks like the game isn't reading paddle presses correctly (might be affecting other buttons too) which is causing the problem.  Hopefully this'll be addressed at some point.

Does my name now show correctly in the Rallymuk club?

I watched Jimmy Broadbent play this yesterday. He thinks the driving is very good and fun even if tarmac physics are Scheisse(similar to Dirt Rally and previous WRC games). But theres too much copy-paste content and the menus, mp, leagues etc are bad. For example there is no timing between stages in multiplayer, only at the end of rally, so nobody knows the situation until at the end. Thats unacceptable as RBR did multiplayer events and UI right 20 years ago already and it cannot be lot of work for a big developer.

Think this was attempt three, so no pressure then...

What a run though! Can tell you're using a wheel by the smoothness instead of constant micro corrections. Despite initial misgivings I fucking loved WRC10 (until they took it off PS Extra when I was 95% of the way to completing it with no warning the annoying pricks) how do you find it compares if you played that one?

It's hard to deny all the WRC games look very, very similar to each other.

@Haribokart it’s very similar to 9 and 10. It’s the best WRC game but not massively better than 9 or 10.  In fact other than the dlc Pug 206 and Citroen C4 the cars are the same? Oh, there’s an Escort Mk2 RS1800 but it sounds nothing like one - it’s actually upset me it’s so bad in cockpit view.

Improvements are more locations and stages. Also I think ( on PS5 at least) it has better graphics and especially lighting in game. The handling is better on a wheel but trickier on pad.
it’s got clubs and Leagues and teams so the online is more varied and interesting.
It’s got the new Rally 1 cars as well, nearly forgot.

Been a fan of these games and championing them for years now. From 7 onwards they’ve just got better and better to the point WRC 10 was imo, the best rally game ever made. Generations is the first one I haven’t picked up on release in years.  Keep checking it out though and feel like I should, what with it being the last one. I’ve read a few times that it’s only running 1080p 60fps??? Is that correct. Also, does the PS4 version upgrade to PS5 for free?
