I’d like to think that Forest buying two full squads of players and change would end the phrase “doing a Fulham” once and for all.

Especially if they beat Derby’s record. (Not happening but I can still hope)

Forest haven’t been relegated yet so doing a double Fulham might work out for them. But if they do go down I will start referring to it as ‘Doing a Forest’. Of their players whose names I can remember I wonder how much their early summer signings like Lingard, Williams and Henderson are regretting moving there.

I said it before, Forest put themselves in a position where they had to recruit so many players, they let so many players go or had so many players on loan and there didnt seem to be a huge effort to recruit players like Spence, Garner, Davies and Zinckernagel, I'm sure for the money they've spent they could have acquired some of those players on permanent deals (Spence only cost Spurs £20m and he was excellent in all of Forests games against Premier League sides last season). Samba, another huge part of the squad (performance and personality wise, whilst Zinckernagal went to Olympiacos I think, who are owned by the same guy as Forest), was let go too. Thats five players who between them played around 200 matches in total last season, whilst you also had some experienced players who werent always starters but had enough about them to keep the squad balanced, like Joe Lolley.

I think after the initial excitement of being promoted and then a very busy transfer window, Forest fans have every right to now be worried, they needed stability, it wasn't that long ago they were bottom of the Championship.

Forest fan here. I actually quite like MGW, I liked him a lot in the play-offs against us even. But we're now playing MGW, Johnson and Lingard at the same time and they all just switch off when we don't have the ball and we're shipping goals from outside the box. Lingard's been especially hopeless.

But yeah, club's got bigger problems. I think there is some truth that the board has tried to Fifa/Football Manager this and in reality the players and manager haven't gelled and we're fielding a bunch of incohesive strangers every game. The rejection from the board of everything and (nearly) everyone that worked last season just set the tone and it's been a very steep slippery slope from there. Even our one win against West Ham was very fortunate.

Feel bad for Cooper but I don't know what the board does from here to be honest. Best thing might be to get someone in and pray that a new approach creates a fresh start and atmosphere for everyone. But yeah, probably time to roll out the stats about the ridiculous amount of managers we've had in the last 10-15 years.

At least we had last season! Got to appreciate the good times :).

Spence was never going to pick Forest over Spurs, United only decided they'd sell Garner late in the window, Samba put in a transfer request almost instantly after promotion, etc etc.

I dunno what you could've done at Forest really, rolling the dice seems like the best way of trying to secure safety. Don't forget that there's another month off for coaches to work with players who aren't going to the World Cup.

This season is already pretty weird and it's only going to get weirder.

Rangers at Anfield tonight. I honestly think the best we can hope for is only losing 3-0 😬 Will be amazed if we sneak a 2-0 defeat or “better.”

Your midfield might be taken aback at how much space they get, which could be befuddling I suppose. Heart says 1-1, head says, ‘just don’t concede first you melts’.

We’re playing 5 at the back for the first time in maybe 12 years, with young King starting 😅 Never seen this lineup but I think I know what Gio has in mind. Means if Tav and Barasic go up the wings, we’ve still got 3 CB’s, probably with Lundstram dropping back to make it a four man defence even with fullbacks on the attack. Either that or he’s dropping back to make it a 6 man defence 😂

We’re barely managing to chase their shadows 🫣

Still expect Kent to grab one against the run of play and then Ben Davies heading in from a cheap free kick

Went about as well as could be expected. We coulda done with more from big players in Kent, Lundstram and Tavernier. We’ve just got zero pace. Matondo and Sakala coming on improved us, probably because they’ve at least got pace. Not much else mind.

It's a very stagnant team.

I will never understand why youse sold your good young players with a bit of pace or guile and used that money to... extend the contracts of the old guys who have been there forever? Should have been the starting gun for a rebuild.
