He wouldn’t get anywhere near your first 11, he’s perfectly suited for Arsenal though.

True but with cup games and the new 5 subs rule he'd be handy to have, but Arsenal definitely better suited for him.

As a Liverpool fan Erikssen is the first signing for a long time that has me concerned that United will improve. He is a first class operator.

It’s when they sign a half-decent DM that their shape will improve. Wouldn’t have minded Eriksen on a free though, lovely option to have in the squad.

Could have been a Gary Mac style signing.

Still a long way to go before we’re a concern for the teams at the top.

Oh definitely, but Erikssen is a step in the right direction. United haven't had a midfielder who can dictate a match like he can for a long time.

Pogba threatened plenty but never actually managed to string it all together.

https://news.sky.com/story/premier-league-seeks-clubs-backing-for-gambling-sponsor-ban-12645900

PL are asking clubs to back a ban on gambling shirt sponsors. They ask clubs to ban them from next year, but will allow existing deals to run no later than the 24-25 season.

If it doesn't happen, there could be legislation from government to do it.

Could have sworn I said this before, but while I am absolutely, definitely 100% behind such a ban, I am also equally convinced that this is only being floated because the Big Rich Clubs don't have to carry those sponsors on their shirts - it is another way of pulling the ladder up.

This Government is taking plenty of money from the gambling lobby to ensure that it never happens unless it is voluntary.

It’s also pretty pointless while there’s the Sky Bet Championship, gambling ads on billboards around the pitch and tv coverage of games is full of them.

The City Football Group have just bought Palermo which means they now own 12 clubs around the world

With Richarlison now joining Spurs i wouldn't be surprised if they sold Son now.

Nah, what it means is that finally, Kane and Son won’t be run into the ground like they have been the last few seasons, and can have a break if their form isn’t good. Richarlison can rotate in to any of the front three positions and provides good competition for the aforementioned, and Kulusevski.

I've just put a quid on them all to get relegated next season.  Apparently New York are least likely to go down.

There is also no relegation in the Australian A-League or the Indian Super League (for a couple more years yet).

After several centuries of slumber, Duncan Ferguson has left Everton to feed again.

But he gets their DNA! Feels like this might be akin to what happens when the ravens fly away from the Tower of London.

So having dodged charging Richarlison for chucking a flare, he scores goals that help keep Everton up and the Premier League wait until after the season to give him a one game ban because they are fucking corrupt to the core.

I'd say its more likely to be incompetence than corruption.

People are trying to guess who the arrested premier league player is, inevitable when they give out little details like age and place of arrest. Who was in the country at the time. Two more allegations of rape now

A leading Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of rape has been further arrested on suspicion of two incidents of rape against a different woman.

The player has been released on bail until August by the Metropolitan police after questioning and inquiries are ongoing.

The 29-year-old, who is a high-profile member of his side but is not being named for legal reasons, was arrested in the early hours of Monday at his north London home on suspicion of an offence alleged to have occurred last month. The two further allegations pertain to dates in April 2021 and June 2021.

A statement from Scotland Yard read: “On 4 July, an allegation of rape of a woman in her 20s was reported to police. It was reported the alleged rape happened in June 2022. On 4 July, a 29-year-old man was arrested at an address in Barnet on suspicion of rape and taken into custody.

“While in custody, he was further arrested on suspicion of two incidents of rape that were alleged to have been committed in April and June of 2021 against a different woman in her 20s. He has subsequently been released on bail to a date in August. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

The player’s status in his club’s pre-season preparations is unclear.

29, North London home.

Yeesh.  Because of their financial situation last summer, Barcelona asked Frankie De Jong to defer some of his salary.  Now they are trying to sell him to Man Utd without paying up.  What a fucking club they are.
