Danny Ings has signed for West Ham for around £15m.   I felt he was an odd signing when Villa picked him up 18 months ago, seemed that the Jack Grealish money was burning a hole in our pocket but I did like Ings when he was here.  Decent striker, seems like a good bloke too.  I do wonder if this means someone else is coming in at Villa, because we've shipped out two strikers (one on loan, one permanent) and bought in a teenager with one season in MLS under his belt.

Obligatory I was gutted that injuries wrecked his time at Liverpool post.

Good player, and West Ham need some goals. Imagine Everton fans are loving the thought of an ex-Red scoring on his debut against them.

I can see why we signed Ings, we needed another striker and more goals in the team, and he was about the only reliable PL striker you could realistically get at the time. Unfortunately he couldn't fit in the side very well and he and Watkins couldn't play together for some reason.

Good bloke, leaves with no ill will, we need to buy a replacement because we're thin up front again now.

Tottenham turning up in the one game their fans don’t want them to is objectively very funny.

This is actually being ‘Spursy’ - other fans have never really got what it meant, this is it - still plenty of time to let a few in esp as Lloris has made a couple of saves so need to give his usually goal a game away yet!

Only poss issue is we always beat Man City :hmm:

I said to someone at work this week, we’ll probably take six points off City again this season and hand Arsenal the title. Not, based on the season so far, that they don’t deserve it. Kroenke has given Arteta the time and funds to do a proper rebuild, which Levy should learn from.

What on Earth is going on at Turf Moor? If Arsenal are currently the best the top-flight has to offer can only imagine Kompany’s claret and blue machine will have the Premier League sewn up by Christmas next season.

Parachute payments Vs other teams who can only afford to lose an average of £10m a season.

We made £40m profit on transfers in the summer window alone. 9 first team players and their wages departed.

The sale of Dwight McNeil alone paid for Benson, Zaroury, Cullen, Twine and Bastien, all of whom played last night.

I was sat right behind this. It’s one of the most remarkable things I’ve ever seen at Turf Moor.
