Come on, Jason Sancho is earning every penny of that.

Fair play. Has Jadon not sorted out the mistaken identity issue with the bank yet?

The new stadium makes Spurs the most attractive option compared to Liverpool and United for a takeover. New owners don’t have to worry about the kind of investment to upgrade it that Old Trafford needs and Anfield is part way through.

Qatar look at buying Spurs.  Because of course they are.

Will be interesting to see infinite money take on immovable Spursiness.

It's a minority stake not buying them. I don't like the idea though. Seems inevitable.

The only reason to buy a significant stake (if the £1b is anywhere close to the true figure) would be to lay the groundwork down the line for a takeover. There's no sportswashing benefit to being a part-owner, after all - they will want to control it all.

How would it work with the fact that they already own PSG though?  Spurs and PSG could both be in the Champions League.  Isn't that against the rules?

If you can afford decent lawyers, rules don't mean anything.

RB Salzburg and Leipzig manage it so I don’t think they’d have any trouble owning Spurs and PSG. They could also setup a separate company with no connections to the government at all (lol) like Newcastle United’s owners.

As it stands, owners are permitted minority stakes in other clubs. Owners can't currently own two clubs in the same competition but given enough dollars through back channels and schemes to look the other way, I'm sure UEFA can be convinced dual ownership is fine, all fine.

It's quite depressing seeing fellow spurs fans salivating over this news on twitter. People will accept anything for a better football team.

Twitter football fans are fucking braindead mate. 90% don’t live in the uk or are 13yrs old.

It’s already happened once at club so farcical their stadium was known as the Theatre of Comedy.  They bought Sergio Aguero and when his powers started to decline they appointed Pep Guardiola as manager.

Looking at that, I don't think it was intentional and as mentioned, the ref is moving sideways.

(Actually, given that can be a red card offence, wouldn't VAR have checked it?  But then maybe his colleagues just hate him.)

Guardiola might have to pull a tactical masterstroke here by doing something crazy like bringing De Bruyne, Haaland and Mahrez off the bench.

Will they be in the correct positions though??!  Haaland in goal, Mahrez defence and De Bruyne up top.

There's no VAR in the Carabao Cup until the semis.

Another day, another twat ref fucking us over in a cup competition.

Sigh.

What happened? Forest seem to have cut a deal with the devil recently.

Hopefully they get smashed to fuck in the semis, followed by you sending them down.

We were denied a blatant penalty late in the 2nd half. Right in front of the ref.

I would say it's ironic because VAR would have given it, but there was no VAR tonight. Then I remembered what happened on Saturday - there's no guarantee VAR gives anything these days.
