I'm ok with an Arsenal title win. At least it's not Man City. Or Chelsea. Or Man United. Or Newcastle Arabia.

Sorry, had to remove my pos…. Like United are going to challenge for too spit this year 😂

In my book…. Anyone but City will be just grand ☺️

We’re not even halfway through the season.  Arsenal have been impressive so far but can just as easily see them collapse out of the top four as win the league.

Is funny seeing Pep’s billion pound side languishing behind them though.

Didn't Newcastle blow a twelve point lead?

I think United had a few games in hand over Newcastle so it wasn’t a true 12 point lead while currently Arsenal and City have played the same number of games.

As a Liverpool fan it’s frustrating that they’ve gone toe to toe with City for five years, had multiple 90+ points seasons and only won it once when the stadiums were empty due to COVID and it looks like Arsenal are going to win it  in their first serious attempt. They’ve been the class of the league this season and haven’t missed Jesus at all, City aren’t quite at it this season even with Haaland up front scoring for fun.

It's been two games.

Dont get me wrong, I'm pleased for Nketiah, he's taken the opportunity well so far, and the goals are well spread out amongst the starting XI, but it's still far too early.

Remember that referee who took charge of the Argentina - Netherlands match at the World Cup? It all got out of hand, he booked everyone and completely lost control of the situation. He's just returned to action in La Liga, and he seems to be building his brand further.

As you can see, between the 73rd and 81st minutes, he gave a penalty and handed out seven yellow cards, two of them second yellows. The game needs more natural entertainers and refs with flair like this guy.

In that case, here's Christmas 1995:

Both played 19 games, Newcastle have a ten point lead.

And of course, by early February Newcastle had a nine-point lead, having played a game fewer than United:

Kevin Keegan would later go on about bottle, but he should have been more worried about Spursing the whole thing up.

Strange premature title crowning going on here, especially as we all know City are able to go the rest of the season without dropping a point. Arsenal are doing very well but have also had a lot of fortune, can’t see it lasting at all.

2-0 up at Spurs, so of course two of our central midfielders go off with injuries within about two minutes of each other.   Let’s hope the squad guys show their worth.

We are in the last ten minutes, Son now needs a hat trick.

Villa were superb today.  Kept it tight in the first half but took control in the second and never really looked like losing.  Spurs carried a lot of threat until they got 30 yards from goal but then most of it was snuffed out.   Unai Emery has now took 9 points from 12 in a tough run of fixtures (Man Utd home, Brighton away, Liverpool home, Spurs away) and while I don't doubt for a second that some of it is just new manager bounce, opposition teams have had to tear up whatever scouting notes they did have on us under Gerrard, we do look like a good team for the first time in a long time.   The good players in the squad are looking good again and Emery looks to be getting a tune out of some of the ones we had question marks over.

A good point for Forest that, heating they could maybe have got more from the game too.

Question is how many players will they buy this transfer window?

City winning 22 games in a row??! That'd be 4 more than the record. During CL ties, not likely is it, couldn't even beat Everton at home and have Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United all away and Spurs home and away in the next 7.

I also expected City to go on a winning run in January as they always do and maybe removing Cancelo, Foden and Walker from lineups has given them the motivation Guardiola thinks they need, because otherwise after that run I wouldn't be shocked also if they're left hoping for 4th. I don’t expect that to happen though, De Bruyne will pull something out and Foden will play and both are big game players.

Arsenal just have an energy and momentum no other team has. The last game against Man United, Arsenal just went for United like they would any other team, and got caught out, but overall I think that approach of not settling for a draw against top sides is better, they don't fear anyone. Even with losses it continues the momentum when they dominate, create loads and know they were better.

It's also looking just like Haaland is another record breaking goal season like Suarez and Salah had that doesn't result in the title. As I thought as the season started, it will be teams going at City that scuppers them, not being unable to get the winning goal. They're no where near as solid in defence.

Haaland was brought in to win those tight games but the team adapted without a recognised striker to winning enough that the one off game in 10 didn't matter. The thinking is they were better without a striker by dominating more, Haaland doesn't offer enough in the build up play and isn't being provided enough chances to make having someone as lethal as him an advantage.

I’ll bet good money (83p) that Man City get at least 13 points from those games with Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Spurs x 2.

83p!? 83!? Hark at money bags over here, next he'll be buying Twitter (mind you, you could probably pick that up much cheaper at this rate)

You’re all just lucky my diamond castle has acceptable WiFi and I’m able to bark the unfounded predictions that have made me such a towering success in absolute no fields of industry.

Come to think of it I would be a great CEO for Twitter.
