We’ve got this to go on:

Yes, there is a game I have always wanted to make. It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it. With Microsoft’s cutting edge cloud technology and the change in the industry’s trend, it has now become possible to challenge myself to make this never-before-seen concept. It may take some time, but I’m looking forward to teaming up with Xbox Game Studios and hope to bring you some exciting news in the future!

Place your bets.

As...

"I've made a big enough name for myself and MS paid enough to be here for my new idea."

I hope there really is something different here that couldn't be done without "the cloud". But I'm skeptical until something sneaks out.

A horror game that is a spiritual sequel to Silent Hills in the same way Death Stranding tackled many of the same themes (non-violence, nuclear weapons, etc), except this one actually exists and is fucking awesome because Kojima is at the height of his craft.

Only for fucking nostalgia boomers on here to moan about it because it lacks the franchise name they want on the box, resulting in posts every month about "locking him up so he just makes Metal Gear forever" as is already unfortunately already common.

He used similar 'it's an unseen concept' language about death stranding. Heh. And as unique and weird as that game is, it still looks and feels like a lot of other games, ultimately.

Huge pinch of salt taken.

I mean if you read the post closely it's not actually about the future game, it's about the reception to Kojima's recent output on here, despite it being brilliant.

If you're not someone who wrote "he should be locked in a room and forced to make Metal Gear", don't worry, it's not aimed at you.

It will be a game where you play as Tim Rogers interviewing Kojima in 2004, and the power of Microsoft’s cutting edge cloud technology mean all his answers are AI generated based on sentiment analysis of your questions mixed with analysis of forum posts of stuff Rogers pretended HK said to him in 2004 to wind people up. The AI then spits out a game based on what you wrote as Rogers on your ‘blog’ about the interview. But no matter what you write, the ‘game’ is always an AI remix of Metal Gear Solid 2. And then you have to review it, which also get posted to your ‘blog’.

Other ‘Tim Rogers’ can see your review, and play it, as long as they then review it - if they don’t, no more Kojima interviews, i.e. they get locked out of the game. The AI then creates another version of Metal Gear Solid 2, based on their review, and what Kojima said to them in their interviews.

If you don’t review games, you get locked out. And all the games will look like they came out of that DALL•E mini.

Did you imagine people saying this?

About the only thing that could tempt me to pick up an Xbox would be a kojima exclusive . Well played MS.

Dunno  if this mean it’s whatever Norman Reedus was talking about , cos I can’t imagine him working on two games at once

Remember when you wondered why you get called out in threads and others don't? Stuff like this is why. Stop acting like a bellend.

It could be what he originally had going on at Stadia, before they shutdown internal development:

The Kojima Productions project is understood to have been pitched as an episodic horror game. Sources indicated that the Japanese studio was keen to innovate in the cloud gaming space, but the proposal was ultimately blocked by Stadia GM Phil Harrison last year.

This is possibly the project designer Hideo Kojima was referring to last summer, when he told a Japanese publication he had recently seen a “major” project cancelled. “I’m pretty pissed, but that’s the games industry for you,” he said.

Kojima Productions did not offer a response to this story.

And as another recent leak from Tom Henderson (who's building up some reasonable rep) indicates the game is called Overdose, which is probably accurate as KojiPro asked him to remove the article.

If Hideo is making a cloud adventure using Microsoft's cutting edge cloud technology, I'm guessing it will be the first entry in the freshly invented 'cloud' genre. Also, the main character will be called Hank Cloud.
