Power Wash Simulator - Warhammer 40k, Spongebob Squarepants and PC VR in 2023!

Reached a point now where I can afford the third washer, but I’m only $750 - and a few more stars - away from being able to buy the pro washer.

The RV is an pain in the arse with the X2, as only the red nozzle is really effective, and it’s taking forever. Gritting my teeth and telling myself this and my other job will get me a step closer to the pro washer, and then the dirt will know who’s boss.

I've spent all of my money on soap but that bungalow fucking KNOWS it's been washed.

Buy all the metal soap and get the majority off, then use the swirly nozzle.

Did the last 10% via XCloud on my iPad. I’m this close to pro washing nirvana.

The nightclub toilet is an amazing level. It's absolutely disgusting, layers of filth, you feel a visceral need to get in there with the power washer and clean it out. And then when you do clean the crap off, it absolutely gleams.

Saving up to get the more powerful washers is by far the better approach to progressing through the levels.  You don't want to be stuck in prolonged red nozzle territory trying to progress.  Basically you can ignore the soap and short extensions in the shop to help with saving up for the better washers.  IIRC you can also earn money in some of the non-career modes but not all of them

Replaying stuff only gets you a fraction of what you got originally. The only one I came up against with my washer not being powerful enough was the RV. That used up all my reserves of Metal Soap. It waf the same the first time round tbh Other than that it's been fine.

I've used the cleaning fluid once on some graffiti in the skate park and it was amazing but yeah, otherwise I've saved every penny for washer upgrades. So much power.

Biggest mistake I made was not realising I needed to change washer after buying it. Did the whole next level after buying the first upgrade without selecting it. I still thought it was better purely through the placebo effect. Felt like an idiot when I found it. Proper revelation.

I missed the early achievements on the van, the garden and the bungalow, simply because I didn't check the achievement list early on and didn't know that there were all these optional objectives. I've done all the optional objectives since.

Can I go back and redo these levels in Free Play to get the achievements?

Yep. I did so with a drill achievement a few days back.

This is so true but then the texts show that the owner is going to make the toilet itself the nightclub and you throw up in your mouth a little :(

This forum is ruining my life and free time. Last year, bored of everyone blathering on about bloody Hades I gave it a go and ended up putting 100s of bloody hours into it.

This year, bored of everyone overhyping Elden Ring and knowing it wasn't really for me, I ended up buying it on a whim and spent 220 hours on one bloody play through.

And now, I have to explain to my wife why on earth I'm power washing some grubby toilets when I have no desire to use a real one on the patio. She's now proceeded to tell her friends who think I must be having a mid life crisis. Thing is, podcast/audiobook and this is pretty chilled gaming.

The thing about real chores, be it power washing or lawn mowing vs the game is that things go wrong.

Run over the heads of my wife's flowers with the mower.

Spread cat shit over the lawn.

Knock over and smash a gnome with the power washer

Notice paint being stripped by the washer.

etc.

Maybe these games could add a "frustration" mode.

Yup I'm still trying to get that sodding ball up the slide.

Even with the toppest of the top power washer I can't do it.

I did it last week while I was going back and getting all the achievements I'd missed.  Took a couple of minutes but did it as follows:

  • Used very short, low power blasts to get the ball into the very bottom of the chute of the slide
  • Laid down facing up the slide and with the most powerful washer and red nozzle gave it a single strong blast to get it up and over the top of the slide

Pffffft, if you’re not spending ages lining up the shot, then juggling the ball up the slide with the X2, desperately trying not to lose the angle and pressure on the ball, did you even Stegascore?

(you did, it’s just I spent half an hour doing the above and it’s the best thing I’ve done in a game since going wheeeeeeeee and woooooooooo and whoooooosh while swinging around New York while playing Spider-Man)

I can't do that bloody 95% achievement. Have managed 94% twice before accidentally spaffing on an indicator in my excitement.

Assuming you have all levels unlocked I did that on the Ancient Monument level as that one is all 'large' areas so it is relatively easy to not 'over cover' an area.

It is a quite large stage though so takes quite a while to do

The other suggestion I have seen is to do it on the penny farthing, starting with the smallest components first in case you mess up.  This should be quicker as its a v small stage

Good lord the last job takes a long time.

Day 3 for me and still only 40% clean. Only a few hrs a day mind.

I'm exactly the same. It's a monster.

Also one of outside wall sides (the clearest and easiest parts to do) has a tiny part left to do for me. I have went over it multiple times and nothing is showing as not being cleaned.

If this stops me from getting 5 stars on this I will be raging as I have 5 on everything else.

Maybe a bug? Thinking someone can join me in co-op and see if anything is showing for them?

I'd just walk over it again spamming right on dpad.  The floor inside did the same and I did 3 laps looking for the last spot.

Can't jump on as in work sorry.

Did that for 30 mins (been doing that throughout the 42hours I have played the game lol). Nothing there. It's definitely a bug.

Had several instances where I was stuck on the last tiny bit of an area and there was nothing showing up on the highlights. The roof on the forest cottage and the cubicle walls in the toilets were particular issues. I just went over and over the area with a bunch of different nozzles and eventually it dinged. Sometimes doing a different section and coming back seems to cause it to complete almost immediately.

It's probably my one criticism of the game - it seems very inconsistent on what it requires you to do, even on areas that are the same size. Some areas auto-complete with visible patches of grime, others require you to get every single last pixel.
