Power Wash Simulator - Warhammer 40k, Spongebob Squarepants and PC VR in 2023!

Given how chill this game is, I'm finding it unusually frustrating when the achievements don't ding. Clean the 4 toilets last - did that, except it seems you need to do toilet, toilet lid, and toilet seat last. I was painstakingly avoiding the literal toilet, too. I guess the achievement description isn't enough and I should read up on them first.

The "get the ball up the stegoslide" achievement is driving me insane in this. I've been trying for ages and haven't even got it onto the slide yet. Even getting it up the tiny little lip of the playground seems completely hit and miss, stopping it in the right position for the slide then actually getting it up that much bigger lip seems impossible.

I'm using the most powerful washer and the red nozzle and I'm just chasing the thing backwards and forwards round the playground. I hate it so much.

I did it last night. Put the step stool close to the left side, as a trap. With the pro washer, I used the white nozzle to gently move the ball over there. Took a while, I'd miss and then the ball is on the fence. Blast it with red to make it bounce off. I didn't go directly up the lip, I came from the side, letting it rest against the stool. Only once it naturally bounced slowly off the stool and was dead center did I go prone and blast it with red. Went straight up.

Once you get it up the first lip onto the mat stop using the red nozzle to manoeuvre it into position. Use lower power ones from slightly further away in very small bursts. Once it's in the right spot crouch and line it up quite close with the red before a big blast to get up on the slide and a knock or two extra if it stalls part way.

I honestly found it quite easy. Not a brag but I think it's more about thought and being careful than reaction times.

Using the stool is a really good suggestion, thanks for that. Gives it something to rest against where you know it's in position. I'll give it another go as soon as I think my blood pressure can handle it.

Did it with the second washer. It took aaaaaaaaaages. Really wish I'd waited until getting the Pro washer. And used the stool/ladder to trap the ball. Instead used very light taps on the triggers to line the ball up in front of the slide. Once in position went full bore with the washer while facing the slide and pretty much hoped for the best. The most nerve-wracking bit was keeping the ball moving once it was on the slide, which wouldn't be an issue with the more powerful Pro.

How do you put down the ladder outside of a valid (yellow) position? I was hoping to use the ladder but couldn't drop it.

And yeah, once it was on the slide it went shooting up there no bother with the pro, whereas with the medium washer I was juggling it for ages before giving up. Good job on completing that :D

Actually, you’re right I was misremembering some advice I saw elsewhere; was just the stool as a stopper on one side. I really should have waited but was one of my gaming highlights when the ball finally went up and over.

The video of the last 30 seconds is on page 4 or 5, with bonus celebration jumps!

Loving this, find myself losing track of time when I play.

The fire station is pretty grimy, isn’t it?

Oh just you wait ;)

Did enjoy the fire station, cleaning the roof is super satisfying.

Well, finished Career Mode on the PC version today. 48 hours, 33 out of 40 achievements.

I loved this, first time in a long while I have focussed on a single game so much. It’s quirky, it’s funny and it’s so satisfying when you hear that “ding!” for cleaning a section of the level. The storyline is brilliantly done, and the credits song is almost as good as Still Alive from Portal.

Every time the thread bumps I worry it might be because DLC has been announced. Can’t be leaving things unclean.

Reckon if the makers decided to drop a new dirty object/location a month for £2-3 they’d be Scrooge McDucking into piles of notes.

Wishlist

Steamroller

Tube/subway car (including graffiti)

Petrol station

Stand in a stadium (plastic seats for days)

Cinema/theatre

High time to take a series of really popular FPS Deathmatch stages from various companies, but you just toddle along and clean the buildings like a less bloody viscera cleanup detail.

'2fort is coming to Powerwash Simulator', etc etc.

Edit: you know what, fuck it. Splatoon Collab.

PWS gets levels caked in paint, Splatoon gets the PWS suits as outfits and the three wash guns as weapon camos.

And finished. I can't believe I didn't discover (or remember, reading posts here) the trident attachment until the big boat. I only spotted it because I needed the achievement for buying stuff. Made short work of that boat and, honestly, I think the final level would be quite depressing without it. Once you get used to the sweet spot of all 3 water jets joining up and providing the largest surface contact, it's bonkers how fast you can sweep areas. Wish I'd had that much earlier

Anyway, not done yet, still 36/40. I didn't realize there were achievements for doing things in a certain order so will go back and redo two early ones. Those gold ones though, yikes. Only tried a couple but they're pretty tricky. I might go back and have a stab now and again when there are rewards quests needing achievements.

Anyway, I've only completed 3 games this year and I'm glad this was one of them :)

Started playing this on Steam Deck this evening and an hour and 20 mins disappeared. I can really see this game being a time sink for me over the next few weeks.

Runs well on Steam Deck with the only noticeable drop in frame rate when I was cleaning the toy car in the second level.
