Power Wash Simulator - Warhammer 40k, Spongebob Squarepants and PC VR in 2023!

The best game of 2021 is coming to Xbox! Hurrah! Also leaving early access, but whatever. If you have a PC you should own this game by now. It's fucking fantastic. It's a cathartic, satisfying, ASMR inducing, serotonin releasing megabastard of a game and I love it.

It's exactly as it sounds; you have something to clean and you clean it. From vans, to monster trucks, to helter skelters, to subway stations. You can buy upgrades for your power washer, extra nozzles, cleaning fluid for various surfaces and materials and even cosmetic stuff if you have more money than you need. AND THERE'S FUCKING CO-OP! WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?! Except maybe a Switch or Playstation version. Sorry, peasants.

Anyway yeah, more people need to play this. They've been very active on feedback from the Steam users so 1.0 should be super solid. And if anyone is worrying about the constant PSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH of a jet washer, don't worry there's a setting to turn the volume down for that.

I have a feeling this is going to land on Game Pass as part of it.

And I should be mad about that, as I just bought it on Steam for the Deck. On the other hand, I've pumped (arf) 17 hours into the game already. I bought it three days ago.

It's incredibly satisfying to play. More akin to stripping wallpaper, or popping bubble wrap. I mostly have streamers on in the background while I'm happily plodding away with switching nozzles and blasting away graffiti.

I'm currently on the tougher parts of the career mode now, though - currently on the drill, and the treehouse is next (which I heard is.. rough). I'm hoping I can get access to the pro cleaner soon.

It needs a two player mode!

It has co-op!

The treehouse is vast and a bit annoying. It's not a sticking point as such, just somewhat tiresome.

I'd put something like 33 hours into it before the last batch of jobs were released and had my first bug. I came out of a menu on the subway job and it completed the job. Just wiped away the rest of the grime and now it's stuck like this:

I'm sure there's some way to replay levels but I can't find it.

Yeah, I've now started the Treehouse, and I agree. It seems straightforward and the thresholds on areas are quite lenient (as opposed to the Carousel, which is just a bunch of intricate parts), it's just there's a lot to do.

Nothing that the white and green nozzly bois wouldn't fix, ofc. Just need a nice podcast to settle into, lovely.

I'm still at the Monster Truck. I just found out that the career mode has an 'end' to the story when 1.0 drops, so that's good.

I can't wait to jet wash the gathering of the juggalos. That's the only logical end game.

Spoiler

It's probably the Volcano that's been covering everything in ash.

Sadly it's not on sale in the Steam Sale but I bought it anyway. Will give it an hour and if that's all I'll refund.

Technically, it's already on sale, as the price is going up once it leaves early access.

Although even at the current price, I don't regret it one bit. It scratches that cerebral part of the brain that also convinces you that folding crisp packets into triangles, peeling labels from beer bottles and picking at scabs is a good idea.

All I need now is a game version of those rug cleaning videos that have about fifty million views on YouTube.

With levels featuring the videos of people giving their cars a really good valeting.

Honestly, given the amount of filth you're faced with and how the power washing works in this game, you can easily argue that it's exactly what this game is if you haven't experienced it before.

I want a game where you go to the car boot with a tenner and see who can find the best bargains

Holy shit. Bargain Hunt/Antiques Road Trip Simulator. Double it up as an Encarta-styled digital version of a Miller's Handbook which gets pulled up whenever you inspect some digital tat in a procedurally generated granny-operated boutique.

This probably needs to go in that game ideas thread, before that cunt Notch steals it

Like is this ironic? Is this like when people pretended to like Morbius? What is going on?

Nope. As I mentioned in my first impressions, it really is the digital equivalent of popping bubble wrap. It sounds like a completely dogshit premise until you realise it scratches that part of your brain.
