I mentioned the existence of this game to my girlfriend and she told me in no uncertain terms that if I have time to clean pretend things, I have time to clean real things.

Better not tell her about Clitoris S(t)imulator.

I did feel like I'd got a touch of motion sickness from this last night, which is unusual. In my defence: (a) I'd played it for hours, (b) it's quite intense without any of the level breaks or variety you'd get in a typical first-person viewpoint game; and (c) you spend your whole time panning your viewpoint up and down.

I'm fine today but I'll need to be a bit careful with it I think.

Anyone playing on PC; does this better suit a mouse? on control with a pad feel just a little clumsy

Also I could imagine that this in VR with motion controls would be next level OCD satisfying (and with added arm ache)

Some people earlier in the thread said it does, I personally played it with a pad on PC as I hated the twitchy nature of m&k

I don't generally get motion sickness and don't in this game but have you tried out using more side to side rather than up and down movement?

I usually go with the axis that suits the target best but side to side is often the easier to do both when static and moving the camera and when sidestepping with a fixed camera position

Well I'm stuck on the skatepark.  The main floor is 99% clean. I can't spot any more flashing bits of dirt so that's me fucked as it's the last thing on the list stopping me from getting 5 stars.

So annoying

Yeah this had me too. Just keep a keen eye for tiny flashing bits. Also check the edges where the walls meet the foor. If that doesn't work just go back when you've got a more powerful washer and use the white nozzle to just spam everywhere.

Do you know there’s an aim mode? Press up on the d-pad and the camera will stay still while you can wiggle the water stream independently. I find it a bit less precise, but it does mean the camera’s not lurching around all the time.

Bought the $900 washer, no dirt is safe! Except the really fiddly dirt hidden under bungalow steps.

My approach now is switching between the bigger jobs, while completing the smaller jobs, like the golf cart, as and when they become available. Playground is currently 54% clean, the bungalow 71%. Look forward to whatever the last level will be, an entire airport? Actually, that would be pretty rad.

How can you leave a job half completed, you monster? Once I've sprayed the first drop of water, I don't leave until everything is sparkling clean.

A friend sent me a video of what I assume is one of the later stages in the game, it's quite spectacular:

Spoiler

A subway station

I don't know how many stages there are or what they are and I don't really want to know, half the fun is seeing what's coming up next each time.

I normally complete each one before moving on but earlier I was occasionally leaving one at 99% when stuck finding the last bit and tending to go back when I had a more powerful washer or new nozzle.

There was one level in the career when I seemed to be blocked until I had a specific washer and nozzle so I ended up doing some of the specials and a couple of free plays to get enough $ to buy the items

Yeah, same with me.  I am beyond that level in the spoiler and every time I complete one now I am nervous as to whether there will be another one.  Have done 3 of the 4 specials too.  Have tried a handful of the challenges too getting 2 silvers on the time ones and 1 fail on a water limit one

:)

I did feel somewhat guilty not finishing one of the jobs, especially as the old dears in the bungalow were getting excited about how clean their house was becoming. However, leaving some dirt overnight is a reminder to them to not let their surroundings get so awful again. They'll learn from the experience and be stronger for it.

The playground was becoming a bit of a grind. A grime-d. Now I've got a more powerful washer I'll go back and finish that off, probably at lunchtime. Schools don't break up until today anyway, and the little ones would melt the back of their legs going down the Stega-slide. It'll be up-and-running for summer holidays.

As an aside, constantly squirting cooling (virtual) water actually made yesterday's heat a little more bearable. GOTY!

I'm scarily addicted to this and I can't believe how much of a time sink it is - whoops I've stayed up to 1.30 trying to clean the bloody skate park floor.

If you want added fun - go for the achievements.  The fire station without using the scaffolding was interesting.  "That looks okay - I can get up there with a ladder" <goes around corner and see tower>. "Yoiks!"

It's doable with the second washer and the long attachment. Using the small steps and jumping at the higher bits. Did it last night.

Cos of course you can't put the big ladder on the tower.

Yeah I did it the night before last - jumping up and down trying to get some bit of wall under a ledge for far too long.

In the office today so couldn't Power Wash on my lunchbreak. Didn't mean I didn't spot a few buildings in W1 that looked like they could do with a date with a UXU2.

Give it three months before a hipster pressure washing club opens in Shoreditch where people pay to wash their own dirty stuff soundtracked by music from a tinny speaker rigged up to Zune.
