If it's a legitimate bug, you can usually jump out of the level, go back in and it will pop.

At least with the garden swing, you can attempt to blast it in the crevices (arf) with the red nozzle or the speeeeeeen nozzle you can buy.

I have 99% on the garden level and the list is telling me it's just the sofa swing cushion but there is no dirt anywhere on them and it already popped up they were clean.

Have you got wife mode on?

'You've missed a bit'.

Noooooooooooo! 99% on the detached house, and I can’t find the last bit of grime on the wooden trim.

I had the exact same issue. Turns out it was a bit of trim in the upstairs window.

This is utter shit.

Is there some post ironic thing I’m missing where people are pretending to enjoy it?

It's a fairly accurate representation of power washing, but heavily gamified. You could say it's very boring (and a bit weird) and you wouldn't really be wrong I suppose, but it is relaxing and satisfying and pleasant.

What would you expect from something called 'Power Wash Simulator' except this?

I had this; there was a sliver of dirt on the underside of the cushions, which I got rid of by going fully prone.

Always remember to check from above and below too, there is often dirt there.  The garden swing sofa for example is totally covered on the bottom

Don't forget there's two levels of crouch, too.

Finally finished the tier of missions I was on:

Spoiler

The Ferris Wheel wasn't as bad as initially thought as the thresholds were generous enough to just blast from a distance with the Lance, but it was still a nightmare and bound to put most players off the game for life.

The Subway Station was pretty good, ended up being that first despite being 90% done with the Ferris Wheel.

Fortune Tellers Caravan next!

I find it genuinely hard to stop playing this once I've started. There's always something else that needs cleaning before I go, something that I've nearly done that'll make all the difference. Then something else, and something else...

I don't quite know what makes it all so satisfying. Washing the crap off the benches in the playground and realising they were bright red and yellow underneath was a lovely moment. Cleaning that purple stegosaurus till it shone. Doing all the little fiddly bits on the monkey bars. Drawing a massive cock and balls in the middle of the playground and then washing it all off. It's all lovely. I live for the little "ding!" you get when a piece is all nice and shiny and clean.

Can we get a shout out for the stop motion animation you get at the end of the level showing what you did? I thought it was pre-canned but it is actually a replay of the insane routes you've taken through each level. Love it.

I'm being tight and saving all my money for the $900 washer before I buy bits.

I've been playing this solidly for most of the weekend and would say that saving money for the better washers is by far the best approach.  The extended barrels are useful but mostly later on in the career where having more 'range' means less messing around with ladders and scaffold.

The soap attachment and soap refills are pretty pointless, the wobbly nozzle is useful for making what would otherwise be "red nozzle work" a bit easier but generally you only rarely need the red nozzle anyway.

Yeah, soap is mostly unnecessary (unless, well, your kid / aspiring foreman requests it) - you get bigger gains from upgrading the gun.

You'll mostly get away with the speeeeen nozzle and the shortest extension for 99% of stuff per washer upgrade, and they're generally affordable because of that.

But with the money awarded the way it does for each job, you'll generally get in a cycle of New Washer > nozzle > extension > everything else before investing in the bigger model.

And then you end up like me with thousands left in the bank because you bought one set of horribly coloured overalls to work in.
