Can we safely assume that Capcom sooner or later will remake RE1 same way as 2 and3? It’s not a far stretch is it?

I really hope so, I haven’t played it since the GameCube era and always found it strange they started with the 2 remake.

Different vibe? Elaborate, it'd be nice to have some positivity in the memorybank for that version.

I’m sorry but elaboration will cost a further £54.99 or 120 pos spread over all my most recent posts, thank you.

On the subject of knives. Stabbing in games could benefit from some updated mechanics, not in resident evil 4 I guess because it’s balanced but hear me out.

Whenever you stab or shiv someone in a game it’s usually a single thrust with a large risk/reward payoff (insta kill and you lose the weapon or a lengthy animation and precision timing needed whilst putting yourself at risk and usually as a stealth kill).

Compare it to, say, a prison scene in a film  and you see a lot of stabbing is a non surgical job where you’re aiming to perforate your enemy; lots of short, fast, often indiscriminate jabs to fill them with holes. I think that, as unpleasant as it is in real life, would be great fun in a game.

This would be excellent, a certain amount of time to press A as much as possible and each press is one stab

Also you could use the ring from ring fit to simulate strangling someone- max strength for a minute is a kill, if you slack off a bit it is unconsciousness and too weak they escape

PS2 had separate ways, so it had that going for it.

But reduced enemy count is a big mark against it. Actually was reading earlier about the differences across formats and apparently there's also AI differences between GC and PS2, enemies are less hostile from larger distances on PS2 or something like that.

Tbh tho, it was still a great port imo and blew my mind at the time. But knowing this about it, I could never go back lol

Glad to see that I’m not the only one who recognises the potential for great game mechanics.

Running this by you: just pressing a is not all that, so i was thinking when the character tries to cover up you have to press b to vary the attack, then when they cover up for that a again and then as they lose blood/get tired its more of the same button as they cant block anymore

Capcom started the Resident Evil remakes with the GameCube remake of RE1 back in 2002.

There's no point to remaking RE1 again for a third time as the GC remake of RE1 was just remastered into HD in 2015.

For those that purchased the Deluxe version off the PSN store, is anyone getting an error code: CE-107880-4

When trying to download the preorder with the content?

Someone on ResetEra mentioned an issue. Possibly that the deluxe content hasn't been uploaded yet?

Ah.

Ok, I’ll try again tonight and just download the game only without the DLC content to see if that works.

Im trying to preinstall the game via the Xbox app while I wait for the disk, have they changed this feature? I can't get it to download. Has anyone tried?

Edit - nevermind. Reinstalled the app on my phone and it's fine now.

Store side is pretty behind it seems. Trophy list isn't available on PS5. Got most of them I think (aside from the bonkers hard difficulty ones) going by the insane challenge list but this is particularly late by my prerelease experiences.

The point would be to experience it anew in proper 3D in the REngine a la 2 and 3. I would not mind it.
