Resident Evil 2 Remake was excellent (if not quite as good as the original) Resident Evil 3 remake was handled brilliantly, arguably better than the original for me. This looks faithful in essence, I think it deserves a fair chance.

 

Especially with the "Red9" being prominently visible in the trailer. It's like they know what the best thing about it was!

I'm all for them making changes. Not much point being dogmatically faithful to the original when it's already been ported to every device under the sun; unlike something like Demon's Souls, the original experience is easily accessible.

They announced that, “PlayStation VR2 content [is] also in development”. Suggests to me that it'll be a separate mini campaign or otherwise limited implementation.

 

As the remake is still third-person I think it would take a lot of work to turn the entire thing into a proper VR experience. Maybe they let you play in VR third-person, which might still be neat, but I doubt you'll be lobbing eggs about like in the Quest version.

Just what I was thinking last night. It's one of those rare cases where the balance is struck perfectly, by design or chance. That said, let's see what they do as the other stuff they've done has been pretty decent.

I don't understand why people want the same game again. Just play that PC remaster that guy did.

 

I can't wait for this, and I hope it's full of differences and surprises. My only real concerns are that it could be too short, and that Mercenaries won't be there, but seeing as I can count the games I've finished that I considered too short on one hand, I probably shouldn't worry.

I've already played RE4 loads so playing a reimagined version sounds awesome and a good opportunity to get rid of some of the poorer bits.
