That 1910s Sicily one sounded quite interesting, so that's a shame.

I’ve often thought an open-world crime game where you start small and build your empire through multiple eras would be great. Probably a logistical nightmare to make the game interesting with choices that matter, rival gangs, a growing city etc but I’ll leave that to the scientists.

The remake of Mafia 1 was absolutely incredible. It should have been a huge success if there's any justice in this godforsaken world. We needed more of that by that team.

1 and 2 were both cracking games. I only played them for the first time with the remasters and enjoyed both. Was burnt out by mafia 3, though.

A new survival horror/horror IP would be welcome. Hyped for the Dead Space remaster but feels like ages since I played something unsettling.

Keep an eye out for The Callisto Protocol, a AAA sci-fi horror from the creator of Dead Space. Gameplay reveal next week at Keighley's show.

Thank you! Just had a read on the game, sounds very intriguing. That’s the kind of game I was hoping for, and the Dead Space pedigree puts it on my wishlist :)

I reckon they’re doing Bloodborne 2.

Pretty unlikely but that’s my wildcard prediction.

I think they doing a remake of Bloodbourne and a sequel.

He could be involved without directing like Dark Souls 2.

Isn't that even more reason to not want such a thing? Dark Souls 2 seems to generally be the least liked one, and the only one he didn't direct.

Hidetaka Miyazaki is indelibly tied to that series in the same way Hideo Kojima or any other famous Auteur game director is tied to their creations. Or you may not believe in such things and think games can easily change creative staff and keep their soul intact.

It's just if you're a fan of Bloodborne (and who isn't), I don't see the point in wishing for a lesser sequel. And especially not from a company that has only previously been known for great feats of technical expertise, not transcendent gameplay experiences.

A remaster from them though, sure, maybe.

(it doesn't need remaking, just maybe a consistent framerate)

I dunno, I think Bluepoint could do interesting original work if given the chance to. They were founded by former Retro Studios staff and have some notable people from that developer working for them.

Much like how Playground games was founded by people with experience working on racing games from the UK, Bluepoint could easily move into original game development if that is what they wanted to do. Their reputation would attract the necessary design talent if required as they already have good people in most of the other disciplines.

Nah Dark Souls 2 rules.

I didn't play DS1 much (it's one of the From games that I bounced off) so I can't comment on the comparison between 1 and 2 - but my understanding of the general consensus was that DS2 is the least popular Soulsbornekiroring - but it's still a great game in its own right. It's just an unfortunate victim of From's other dark fantasy action RPGs setting the bar obscenely high. And it was 8th in our 2014 GOTY poll so it can't be that bad.

Apart from the soundtrack which was pretty underwhelming to say the least.

I hope we see what Supergiant Games have been upto since the wonderful Hades.

I'm also dreaming that we see a new Sin & Punishment game, but I think more realistically we might see a glimpse of Metroid Prime 4.

I’m playing the Metroid power-up jingle as I read this.

There's a huge difference between doing investigative journalism and just spoiling someone's marketing campaign days before it kicks off. At that point you're just being a dick.
