It’s finally happening. Starring Jodie Foster.

The series is centered around Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro who are looking to solve the case of six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanishing without a trace, when the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska. The pair will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

Series 3 was excellent. The early episodes looked like the programme makers were just returning to the familiar setup of the first series after series 2 tried to branch out and went a bit horribly wrong, but it very quickly became its own thing. I think Mahershala Ali's performance is one of the best things I've seen in any TV series, he is genuinely astonishing in the main role. Stephen Dorff is good too, despite having a distracting wig in some scenes.

Nic Pizzolatto doesn't appear to be involved with this series, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

How can you watch series 3? I loved The Two Detectives 1&2, but was barely aware season 3 existed.

Was on Sky Atlantic but I've just checked Sky and they only have Seasons 1&2 up.

I thought 3 was really good, certainly better than Series 2. Mahershala Ali was great in it and the story across the ages worked well. As with Fargo, I've enjoyed each series of these shifting narrative programmes.

I remember enjoying season 3 reasonably well, but then kind of stopped watching it half way though and didn't go back.  Usually a sign that it's not that great, as it wasn't pulling me back to watch more, as I must have been distracted by another show.

I'd give it another go if it was available to watch on a convenient streaming service.
