Is that it for big games this year and is this lull temporary?

How many years have people been saying “hopefully the games will appear soon”?

Hopefully the games will appear soon

I know. I don’t know how much longer I can hold out.

Well, probably until I’m done with Elden Ring, so a good while yet.

This to me feels like the most disappointing console first 18months ever. I’m sure I could go back and do some analysis and find worse, but there’s not been much that tickles my fancy that has been released for either PS5 or XSX yet.

Considering there are more amazing games already existing in the world than any of us will have time to actually finish in our lifetimes, who actually cares if it's been a "dry" year?

To be fair, while the PS5 and XSX have struggled for big titles, the PS4 is getting smaller but good games faster than ever. It’s a great time for shmup fans at least.

I tend to be pretty picky anyway - I was barely able to fill last year's GotY list with five nominees - so I'm used to thinking that there's nothing on the horizon. It'll be a good excuse to pick up older games that I missed on release. (I was going to grab FFVII Remake: Intermission but I've been wrapped up in retro playthroughs instead...)

I guess it would be nice if Replaced got a confirmation for 2022, but I'm not holding my breath.

I did grab Intermission! And Replaced is now expected in 2023. No biggie - I have new Destiny season stuff keeping me busy at the moment.
