Happy to see Dune win all these.

The biggest missteps of the night for me in things I've seen are Encanto winning over Mitchells vs The Machines and No Time to Die winning over Dos Oruguitas.

Yeah, the feature animation Oscar is a joke. Which Disney film basically.

Before the nominees were read out, the presenters delivered a joke about parents having to put up with kids rewatching cartoons over and over again. To which Phil Lord tweeted:

Now he and Chris Miller have written a column for Variety about how the Oscars diminishes animation, and suggesting how they could help elevate it instead:

I’m with them 100% the Oscar’s can not see the value in animation or comedy, and they are the equivalent of that fake maturity that 14 year olds look for in computer games.

And I loved Mitchell’s versus the Machines, and any other year it should have one but Encanto totally deserves that Oscar. It’s the best film Disney have ever made. It should have won best film full stop.

Personally I think the Oscar's attitude to live action film is no better than their attitude to animation.

They're dumbasses.
