Trailer.

Saw some behind-the-scenes footage and some longer versions of the footage in the trailer last October. The trailer leans more into the action side of things, but from what I saw there is a persistent dark humour throughout.

Intrigued to see what the final tone of the film will be, and certainly one of the films I’m most excited for this year.

Two scenes we saw are in the trailer (quiet carriage fight and the food car fight) Both played very much for laughs, albeit with that John Wick-style action cam i.e. meaty hits, not over-edited.

Really hopeful the final film delivers on the promise.

Blink and you miss it appearance of Michael Shannon? I loved Deadpool 2, the director does this kind of thing well, this looks like a fun film that will actually be fun. (As opposed to his other film Atomic Blonde which I don't think was).

I've not see one Fast and Furious film. There's so many now and macho+cars is unappealing to me but curious now what this director did with it...even if it was a spin off...

Watched this in the cinema today. So much fun! It's a simple story, well told, well directed, and well acted. The action and fight scenes are clear and easy to follow. The cast have character, everyone on that train has something that makes them stand out, and there's a lot of humour (it landed well with me, but humour is subjective so others might not laugh as much as I did.)

Just a good, fun, action movie.

I saw this yesterday and really, really enjoyed it.

Its Con Air plus Gross Point Blank plus a Guy Ritchie Gangster flick and the anti-Death on the Nile turned up to 11.  Just chuckled my way through it - plenty of action, violence and an insane over the top plot that is fun to watch unfold.  Pitts really good in one of his loveable idiot roles and so is everyone else.

Agreed. We watched this last night expecting it to be a bog standard forgettable action film. You know the ones you enjoy while watching but don't mind missing bits or talking over.

It was fantastic. Very funny, some fantastic writing. The characters were great. Very much enjoyed it.

I thought I'd posted in this thread, but obviously not. I saw this when it came out and thought it was really good fun and had a little bit of heart too. The characters all had some great interplay and riffing off each other and it didn't go quite as you would expect.

It had some laughs, some good action and trod a clichéd heist-gone-wrong plot without feeling like one. Good stuff.

I enjoyed this quite a lot.

Until the last 15 minutes when the full-on CG effects kicked in and a lot of the action felt a bit weightless and inconsequential.

The cast were great, it was proper stylish. The fights were cool. It was just the end CG pulled me out of it.

I just watched this on a plane. It was a bit too long but other than that, perfect for a flight, when you just want to watch something and not think too much.

I also watched most of Minions Rise of Gru on my wife’s screen without the sound and just following the subtitles. It was alright.

Very much this :)

Also, nitpicky, my main issue was that Japanese trains *do not have backwards-facing seats like that* (Sure, a group of 4 who want to chat can flip them to face backwards, but you don't magically get a table)

(Not so irritating, but also... your (distant, but it's big, so...) view of Mt Fuji's right at the Tokyo end of the trip, and Japanese vending machines don't (can't) fail in that fashion, and, and... ;) )
