Not sure how behind Nintendo Life are but they list all the codes in one place. Sometimes easier to check than going through all of Serebii’s posts.

It all just seems a bit sad from the outside.

 

Maybe these sandwich ingredients are the best thing ever and people are excited but it seems oddly off-putting to me. I think I want to play less when this is the gifting.

 

Also, seeing them churn them out like this with no relation to the game either means these are meaningless, or that anyone playing without being glued to this constant stream or in the future is just getting a worse experience.

 

Very odd to me.

They're basically a way to target boosts towards shiny hunting and egg hatching for the community.

I’ve now completed the Pokédex and Shiny hunting / breeding. If anyone is desperate for anything I can pretty much get any Pokémon battle ready with high IVs and perfect EVs if there’s anything anyone’s after. Also if there’s a specific shiny anyone wants let me know and I’ll keep an eye out 🙂 

 

Got a box full of 5-6IV Charmanders if anyone wants one

I would love a Charmander, I only just did the elite four so missed the raid.

I'm at about 40 hours and almost at the end. 

 

The glitches have been a bit overstated imo. But it does run and look like ass. The resolution is so low. Playing arceus after scarlet was like playing a next gen sequel! :lol:

We’re quite enjoying it here, only a few gyms/titans/bases in. I see a lot of jank that could have been polished out with another 3-6 months of dev, but the kids have grown up on Minecraft, so they just don’t see it. Nothing serious really, although if you go rooftop hopping in Mesagoza it’s easy to get yourself stuck down blind alleys where the only way out is via air taxi. 

 

Mela (the Team Star fire boss) has the most hilarious walk cycle after you beat her, I was actually in stitches. You could almost see the P5 Jira ticket saying “Improve Mela’s walking animation”, right at the bottom of the to-do column.

 

What the kids do enjoy is the freedom to just get on your ride and go wherever, particularly once you can swim. That and being able to see all the Pokémon to avoid repetitive battles.

 

It’s an interesting paradox of a game, as it both makes more effort to communicate the controls and gameplay mechanics than previous titles did, and does a worse job. I’d never have known the Pokédex rewards were there without watching a “things I wish I’d known” video. The map is a bit of a usability nightmare, but the set destination stuff works great, which is probably why the game pushes it so much at the start.

 

The classes at the school and all the books are a great way to teach the mechanics, but my kids have no interest in them at all. Makes you wonder who they’re for.

 

The lack of a suggested order for taking on the gyms/titans/bases is also a bit of an error, IMO. You can get some clues if you can work out how to read the target details on the map, but it’s not explicit. They should either have included a suggested order, or implemented level scaling. Doing neither makes it a bit of a mess. They should have let you do whatever order you want, but suggested a set order for a well-balanced experience.

 

The base raids also don’t really work, IMO. Just feels very half cooked, apart from the boss fights.

 

The towns are also bewildering. Why have so many shops in the same town just selling sandwich ingredients, each with a slightly different stock? Just give me a Pokémon Centre, the pre-made Sandwich shop, a single ingredients shop and a branch of Delibird as standard, then have different fashion outlets in each town. 
 

I’m moaning a bit now, but I’m going to play some more in a minute.

Got a Magikarp nice and early so currently levelling that as Gyarados has always been a favourite (though my all time favourite, Blastoise, isn't currently in the game)

Fucking hell, trying to get people to complete a Cinderace raid is frustrating as hell.

 

Not only do people bring in the wrong Pokémon typing (which with kids playing I get) but it now seems that you don't take part in the raid to win.

 

No, you come to the raid to show off your shiny Pokémon!!
