New tweet of the fight intro, you can change your character's expression with directional inputs, looks kinda goofy. The rest looks very slick. I hope there's decent variety for the pre-match struts, with some unique matchup specific animations.

If they took the Mortal Kombat 11 approach and let you choose (and unlock) different intro/victory animations for your character that would be cute.

Rolling Stone just premiered the official music video for Street Fighter 6's main theme 'Not on the Sidelines' by Randy Marx and Rocco808.

Street Fighter 6 Producer Shuhei Matsumoto provided a statement to Rolling Stone regarding hip hop's impact and connection to the series and this game:

"Whether it's the intro of Street Fighter, the hip-hop flavor of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, the BGM and SFX that get sampled by beat-makers, the characters quoted by famous rappers, the art you see on the streets, we're aware that Street Fighter is a perfect match for the street and hip hop culture.

Not a big fan of the theme but I do like that they're leaning hard into the hip hop styling. Hopefully gives the game a strong identity. Visually and musically Street Fighter V was all over the place.

(I would still appreciate an all-in approach to the music, Smash Bros Ultimate style, where you can set the liklihood of alternative remixes playing on a per stage (or matchup) basis).

I'm hoping for someone to release a new line of arcade sticks which natively support the new consoles. HORI have the Fighting Stick alpha for PS5 but it's note terribly attractive. Those Victrix Pro FS sticks look kinda nice and minimalist but they're for PS4 and absurdly expensive, even before cost of shipping to the UK.

A Victrix stick in pastel pink with a Dan laser etched into it would be nice. Maybe there's a wee shop I can just get whatever I want laser etched onto one.

I really like having the touchpad on the stick for Training Mode shortcuts.

I would be massively surprised if that didn't happen near the release of SF6. That's what I was assuming when I posted that I'm going to buy a stick.

I didn't pay any attention around the release of SF5 but I remember loads of fancy cool sticks being released around SF4's launch.

If there are some decent six-button controllers I might be back in. The Hori Fighting Commander for PS4 has actually been pretty reliable (read: "I haven't jumped so much that the "up" direction is broken".) At worst, one of the buttons sometimes "stuck" for a split second, but it's nothing ruinous. And the replacement MadCatz Fightpad I originally got for my 360 still works; I use it for retro/arcade things on PC.

Then again, I might not need premium controllers when there's an easy input mode 🙃

I just remembered why I didn't dive into arcade stick availability around the launch of SF5 - I'd bought an TE stick for SF4 on 360 and I decided to buy one of those fancy adapters instead so I could use it on my PS4.

I think I deserve a new stick by now!

Wow! Where did this come from? Wasn’t expecting an update so soon but I guess, thinking about it, if they’ve got 22 characters to show off by the time the game launches early next year then they need to get these out fairly frequently.

Starting to feel like the hitstops are a little but too long. I know they’re trying to emphasise impact but I feel it makes the game look a bit sluggish.
