They'll likely do the same thing as SFV (and I guess USFIV with its PS4 version) and release a single bundle with 99% of the DLC included in the game's closing years.

I guess stage DLC will be different this time around since in SFV you'd see all the other stages online anyway if your opponent had them whereas in SF6 you'll just be shown your selection instead.

I want to play every character, it's crazy. Manon looks like an early choice for me, the way she's animated reminds me of Pearl from Steven universe.

...But on the other hand D-jay has finger guns and Ehonda just looks like such a boss.

This is the only game I'm looking forward to.

Alternative covers in Japan. Wonder whether it’s planned or because the internet collectively made fun of Luke.

That seems fairly pointless considering it’s Pop-eye that’s going to show up on the PS5 splash screen regardless of which cover you bought.

Exciting, legitimate Beta.

edit - I realise I may have just screwed myself. I applied for the beta on three accounts because playing the odds and trying to game the system to get what you want is what society has taught me I have to do. Got the code on a CID associated with a burner Steam account, but redeemed the code on my proper Steam account this morning in a burst of pre-caffeine excitement.

It's all happily downloaded, but I guess I'll find out Friday just how tightly Capcom have wrapped each code to a CID account/Steam link combo.

More edits - it worked. Looking forward to perhaps getting my face kicked in by people here later.

Got a little bit of time in. It’s kind of sucky that you can’t do training with matchmaking off, but I managed to parry the first hit of Chun’s super in training. :P

They’ve gone ham with the amount of hitstop on everything and it’s got a lovely meaty feel as a result. Tried a bit of Luke, Ryu and Juri, and had fun back and forths with other players. I haven’t used the dash or reversal a whole lot because I’ve been too wrapped up in seeing how tight the parrying is.

The replenishing Drive gauge certainly makes matches more exciting - I thought it would be borked as you’d always be getting Overdrive moves, but it seems okay.

Also I’m going to have to get a six-button pad…

If it's any use to anyone, I've added my friend code to my sig for the duration of the beta. Would be good to get some games in. I am terrible, though.

Apart from against Joffo, as I think I saw a youtube video recently rightfully calling him out as a cheater for landing successful consecutive blows without letting his opponent get a turn pressing buttons.

Timing on this beta couldn’t be worse! Last weekend before Christmas so I’m not going to get much time to play and the day after the big Strive balance patch to boot. Oh well, at least there aren’t any new characters to test out. Are there any balance changes since the last beta?

The only significant balance changes are that perfect parrying a projectile adds scaling to your followup attack like it already did when parrying physical strikes and level 1 Super Arts have universal lost their projectile invulnerability.

Ryu's Hashogeki has also changed properties to be considered a projectile rather than strike.

A recommended way to get a bit more uninterrupted time in training is to go to a quiet lobby's Extreme Battle cabinets. Fewer people will challenge you on those.

Thanks, that's helping a lot. :)

Totally Drive Parried Chun's legs super by fanning the button, although I couldn't respond with anything flashier than the donkey kick.

You can just hold the parry button down for the duration of multi-hit attacks btw, you don't need to time it unless you want the Percfect Parry (which causes a dramatic screen freeze (except against projectiles (additional brackets))).

Makes getting ready for the counter easier.

Ha, I just made a follow-up tweet to that effect. :D It'll take some getting used to!
