I used to be able to do the Countries of Africa Without Outlines quiz on Sporcle. But it's a lot harder to visualise the continent when you don't have that quiz's name prompts and a landmass map!

 

So after my first guess, my guesses ended up kind of circling around the correct country without landing on it. :(

 

I went for:

 

Lithuania (Apart from the perfectly straight borders in the west of the shape, I thought that one of the Baltic countries had a shoreline shaped a bit like that. Turns out I was thinking more of Latvia. Oh well, this guess told me that it was definitely in Africa...)

 

Eswatini (I know it's not shaped like that but I was trying to narrow down the location)

Rwanda (ditto)

Namibia (God knows why I guessed this, I know it's shaped nothing like that)

Malawi (so close!)

Gabon (bah!)

I don’t understand the colour reports on this thing, why do I have black squares? My first guess had three of the same letters as the answer (and in the same spots).  Other people have yellow squares?

 

Think of the squares as just a bar graph for that percentage score you get at the end. Every green is 20%, a yellow is 10%. It's just to keep the Wordle link for a game that really isn't anything like it.

It stands to reason, but this is more often a test of how well I know which countries border each other more than what different countries' silhouettes look like.
